Jared Allen?

You probably said the same about the McFadden thread a couple of days ago, but look how that worked out. I called that deal back on January 19th:

Now, I'm not advocating signing or trading for Jared Allen, and certainly not at $13.5M, but someone has to play DE for us. And he did have 11.5, 12, and 22 sacks in 2013, 2012, & 2011, respectively. I dont think we're going to find that at pick #27.

Are you a psychic? You did call it.

So is everyone convinced already that Demarcus Lawrence can't develop into a very good rush end?

Not me, I think he will. I think he has the work ethic and attitude to develop into a quality DE. Injuries robbed him last season but Dallas will still need a player to rotate in and out. If I was going after Allen it would be with the intent of rotating him and giving Lawrence time to take that next step.

I do not think it has anything to do with Lawrence. To have "Rush Men" you need, well, players that can rush, man.

Lucky, but knew we were not going to pony up for Demarco, and just put some pieces together for a cheap replacement...

That's an admirable quality to know that much about your team.

I THINK I do & they always do the exact opposite of what I think.

It's kinda annoying!

He did enough to fit last year before the decision was made he was out of the price range.

And then went to Chicago and did nothing.

Everyone is talking about how bad their defense was, but I didn't see being on a garbage defense stop him from putting up huge sack numbers in Minnesota.

I don't doubt he could get 5 or 6 sacks, I just don't think he fits the model of what the Cowboys have been trying to do.

FTR, you can do a thread search, I didn't want him last offseason either. He has steadily declined each year, however he is a player that is still going to get paid for what he did, not what he can do.

According to Rotoworld, Allen's $12.5 million salary for 2015 is fully guaranteed, meaning that it's highly unlikely he'll be playing anywhere but Chicago in 2015.

And based on last year, the guy looks at the end of the line.
