Ive watched all their highlight vids..wentz impressed me the most. course, I dont get paid to scout lol

They're both impressive, although I think Goff is the clear-cut #1 QB in this class. Wentz is bigger, more athletic, and has a stronger arm, so he offers a bit more from that perspective. But, from a pure pocket-passer standpoint, Goff is significantly ahead of him right now. Has better mechanics and goes through his progressions better too. Both offer different skill sets and are promising prospects. Neither are ready to start in the NFL day 1 though.

Goff's mechanics, footwork, quick release, accuracy/ball-placement, and ability to handle pressure & keep his eyes downfield while in the pocket are what separates him from the rest of the pack imo. All he lacks is a big arm. He's not leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the QB pack though. Lynch could easily go #1 with his promising physical tools.

I cannot stand Goff's jumpy knees as hes jumping around in the pocket. The toe tap dancing instead of getting set just never makes me feel easy.

The only major flaw I've noticed watching him is he has a tendency to throw off his back foot sometimes when he doesn't need to. That will need to be cleaned up at the next level. That could also be a product of a lackluster OL. He would have two years to work on this behind Romo though.

How are his receivers behind the defense so frequently? That's the most apparent thing from that video. I would rather have that than Goff.

Would Wentz be the starting QB at Cal over Goff? No.

Would Goff be the starting QB at North Dakota State? Yes.

I'd keep my options open in round 1... Who knows if they would pull the trigger on a QB, trade down or simply take the best player.

I like Goff in the 1st if Bosa is off the board. If we can get Bosa, I'd trade up back into the 1st and snatch Wentz.
