If you look at the season in aggregate, you are right. However, he posted some insane stats at the beginning of the year when Portis was leading the league in rushing by 300 yds and regressed considerably afterwards.Skinsmaniac;2633246 said:I think he's improved every year. If he can make the same kind of improvement this year, then he'll be a top 10-12 QB which is good enough for me to want to re-sign him. It would be nice if our O-Line could block for more than 2 seconds. I really hope we take an O-lineman with our first pick.
He has serious problems reading a defense presnap and then going through his progressions. He usually locks onto one target and if that isn't there, goes straight to the checkdown. Maybe some more familiarity with the system may help that.
Secondly, he has a real accuracy problem. Well, not necessarily his ability to throw to a point but his ability to figure out where that point should be. All the great QBs hit their receivers in stride and this is important skill but it's hugely important in a west coast offense where RAC is vital. He's got to throw a ball that is not only catchable (which he has a problem with) but is easily caught because the receiver can't slow down/stop. I don't think is going to change.
Lastly, his deep ball is woeful. It's funny that noodle-armed Brunell can hit more deep balls than Campbell. And this hasn't changed or gotten any better. Campbell just has no touch.
He can succeed with a strong running game and decent defense but he's not somebody defenses fear.
