solid? yes.
casey hampton? no.

And if Casey Hampton is the gold standard for all other nosetackles to be compared against (I don't necessarily disagree), keep in mind that he has 1 sack in the last 3 years combined, and averages about 1.3 tackles per game over his career.

Let me sum up the view of some people on this board.

If a DT or DE is not getting 10 sacks a year they are a bust even if it's in a 3-4 where the lb are supposed to be making the plays.

People on this board play too much Madden. Frankly, let them say their piece.

If you don't understand schemes, and all you do is base your evaluation on a player by how often his name is called in a game, there's probably a reason that you aren't calling shots in any personel departments, or are made to look like an by knowledgable football fans.

Again, Seattle didn't have the 1st team out there for much of the game, but when they were out there, they did little to nothing against our defense in the running game. Aydole picked up 5 tackles and 1 sack, James played quite well, and to me, that would indicate that Ferguson is doing his job.

As far as I know that would be making an impact. Freeing up the LB's to make plays. Thats what the Down Linemen are supposed to do in the 3-4, hold the point of attack and let the LB's flow to make tackles.

and the LBs were flowing and making tackles, I guess HH was expecting to see a couple of sacks from Ferg
