genius red ball emptied the backfield on romos blind side fumble.

My point exactly. Ultimately his success/failure as a coordinator hinges on his players getting the job done. Granted, that's an excuse that applies to every coach, and I certainly don't think Garrett is doing an exemplary job.

But I don't think today was a case of "we win if anyone but Garrett was calling plays." He left something to be desired in play calling, but the players -- from poor passes to poor blocking at left tackle to whatever that was the defense did on Marshall's TD -- are the ones constantly ****** up.

Honestly, I'm fearful I'm seeing the same thing happen with the fans' reaction to this coaching staff that we saw at the end of Parcells' tenure. So many people were convinced ANYONE but Parcells could win with this group, and now there's that same sentiment with Phillips and Co.

We need an overhaul in the coaching dept., but we need so much more than just that or it will be the same ole, same ole.

Like I said, just posting what the play was according to Witten.

I know. Your first paragraph was correct (assuming Witten did say that). The second was not, because even if Witten did say that, he was wrong.

Our running game kept getting stuffed or penalized in the second half.

First-and-10 at Denver's 16, Choice loses 1 yard.

Second-and-9 at our 31, Choice gains only 2, leaving third-and-long.

Choice runs for 17, called back for holding, leaving second-and-13.

First-and-10 at our 47, Choice loses 2 yards, leaving second-and-12.

It's pretty difficult to keep running the ball when you're facing second-and-11, second-and-12 and second-and-13 because your running game is not working. Sure, you could run it again, but then you'd probably be facing third-and-long anyway.
I remember atleast 2 plays when Denver showed the blitz and Romo never changed the play or called timeout instead he let Choice get smashed by 3 broncos at once. I mean Romo led him right the blitz.

It's not so much the number of people running routes, but who was running them.

Or, more accurately, who was not running them.

Exactly. I don't have access to the last play to recall if Bennett was in the game, but I assume he could have been used to block while substituting either Hurd or Austin for Witten, allowing him to run the route instead of blocking.

My gripe was that our best available receiver (Witten) was not out there to catch the ball.

I certainly agree with this.

So our genius OC leaves Witten in to block so Hurd can run a slant against Champ Bailey.....TWICE.

This is just freaking ********, you dont even do crap like this on Madden. What the hell is wrong with Garrett, does he just not understand the game or what???

So with the game on the line, Witten is blocking, Bennett is standing on the sideline, Roy Williams has busted ribs, and we send Hurd, Crayton, and Austin against a pair of probowlers.

Did I miss anything???:bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

How is it Garrett's fault that Romo fumbles away a 10 - 0 lead?

How is it Garrett's fault that Romo misses a wide open RW in the red zone to start the 3rd quarter and gets picked by Bailey?

How is it Garrett's fault Romo missed 3 wide open WRs on our final 2 possessions?

Blame Garrett all you want but Romo is NOT playing up to snuff right now and he keeps making bone headed plays that take points off the board or lead to easy scores for our opponents. This game is on Romo.
...B-I-N-G-O !

...he looked as bad as he did against Pittsburgh last year...all over the place with the ball...
