The percentage of games won in the NFL with 3 turnovers is roughly 15%. With a -2 TO differential you're looking at 18-19%.

The reason this team lost games with a +TO diff was because of the defense. So you say you can't have it both ways and you're right.

You have to look at each game individually. Tonite you had a average to slightly better defensive result. STs didn't help but that's because they played good STs on both sides. It was the offense that failed tonite but it hasn't failed all year. The defense failed in the Det game despite all the TOs.

This all teams have injuries is true but to dismiss all the injuries this team had on defense is absurd. Blaming the coaches for that is unreasonable to be very charitable. A few injuries every club should expect and deal with. That's on the coaches and particularly the GM. At some point the dam breaks and teams with too many injuries just don't generally make it. We had like 19 players start on the DL. Without Selvie this team would have been so much worse and he came off the street. Give the coaches and scouts and yes GM credit for that find esp with the fact you can now deal with Spencer from strength. I'm not going over it all again but if you can't appreciate what Kiffin, Marinelli et al did with getting this defense to play pretty well by the end of the season then your opinion matters little to me. You saw raw rookies developed into players who may be able to contribute in the future and they should be selling wares in the real world.

I agree we need to be careful about rushing to judgment on the D because of the injuries. It's really hard to determine how much of this record-breakingly awful defense had to do with injuries v ancient scheme. And Marinelli, at least, deserves enormous props for what he's done with guys off the street.

However, the absolute reverse is true of the offense. We had next to no injuries, especially when compared with league average, on offense. This is as good as you can ever expect to get on offense. And we had one of the easiest schedules we are going to get and one of the weakest divisions we are ever going to be in and one of the two or three best offensive lines we've had since the mid-90s. And it was absolutely wasted. Flat out, inexcusably, unforgivably wasted.

This year's offensive production is strong evidence for the rot within this organization.
