Rubbish! He implicated all 3 phases of the team. He hid from nothing. It was a pretty darn good pressed after a loss like that.

The media just kept clinging to this "the Cowboys lacked passion" interrogation and Jason said over and over that the team played hard but just did not do the things to win.

Garrett did say that the offense could not sustain drives and had way too few plays.

The fact is that the coaching staff of the Seahawks protected Wilson by designing plays to make him successful. They crafted high percentage plays that we're not a part of a particular offensive philosophy but pure strategic design to play the Cowboys. The coaches called for the blocked punt (similar to the way the Jets. Did last year) and all of the calls by offense and defense were the Seahawks coaches orchestrating victory after victory each play.

That is football coaching. That is not a novelty.

The current head coach of the Cowboys does not have the capacity to manage the entirety of the game and keeps getting outsmarted every game by true head coaches, DCs and OCs who play to win on every play.

Jason Garrett is really only a QB coach who sees the game as more of a baseball mindset: take the pitch, throw junk, swing again, attempt a bunt, walk the runner etc. In baseball, there is no haste or urgency, just a lot of set up and feckless posturing until all of the stats points to a win or a loss. And just like in baseball, the manager does very little to coach his players, instead gives suggestions to the players and hopes they succeed at some point.

It's very liaises faire.

Jason will continue to accept three and outs while he waits for his players to figure out how to individually do what he cannot: out think the other team's coach on every play.

Until Jerry gives up total control...which he won't, this team will never have a true HC. Sorry fellas, but it's middle of the pack for another decade.

Wow, Coach Carroll is the greatest coach of all time. That game plan is brilliant!!

Maybe we should put in a punt block play ourselves, since it is clearly not in our play book.

Have to agree with mostly what you say here. I really, really want Garrett to succeed as an outstanding coach. But it seems that his the type to wait for things to happen rather than go out there and seize the opportunity. We were given opportunity after opportunity, but it seems the team didn't show any will or desire to get to the next level in winning. We can blame the players, but its the HC that needs to show the team where our priorities are.

For example, Romo was in a hurry up offense. We were in a 3rd and short situation where Romo got the ball batted away. Before the play took place Garrett should have called timeout and regroup. Maybe try a running play outside of the tackles or a play action. No Garrett just wanted to punt it - never even considered going for it on 4th down.

We had many opportunities in this game. Yet it was bad play after another and bad calls from our coaches one play after another also.

What could he say except they sucked in all phases?

That he's accountable for his players. You teach them to do things, like hold on to the ball and block on ST. But that's not Carrot's forte. Preparation doesn't seem to be his thing. You can't prepare for one team and waltz in on another one and expect the same results. You have to have your players ready. No excuse for anyone--even Jason Carrot.

Its just a waist of time....Jerry Jones has no choice but to let Garrett coach and hope for the best......his contract is saving him now....His coaching will get him run out of town sooner than later.....

Just what does a Garrett Football team look like.... 5 years coaching and still waiting to see...results....

If we catch all of those dropped passes, finish all of the routes, and don't fumble to start the game, Garrett looks like a much better coach. We would have scored more points, our time of possession would have been higher, and our defense would have been on the field less, giving the Seahawks less time with the ball and our defense more rest.

Me thinks the 4th phase---coaching, needs to be at the top of the heap there. Would make a great politician if coaching don't cut it.

That's a lot of IFs

My point is that Garrett has no control over the players not executing the plays. Vince Lombardi himself would have just had to stand there and watch the Cowboys lose yesterday.

Wait, the Seahawks designed a gameplan to take advantage of the strengths of their players? What a novel idea!
