Enough - let's just wait till we play.

I know one thing, their DL gave us a lot of problems last year.

That's definitely true. They gave us trouble in both the run and pass game. Hopefully we do a better job against them this year.

No, Kelce is not better than Frederick. No matter how many times you tell yourself.

I'll concede that Peters is better than Smith to this point, with one arrow continuing to point up and the other ready to point down.

And I'll also state that Johnson is better than Free, with his arrow pointing up while Free's is pointing down.

But when we get to guard talent, there's no discussion.

Yup.

Kelce and Fred are very different players. Kelce moves better and is better in pass pro. Fred is much stronger and better in the run game. I think where Fred gets the nod is, no center in the league can stone 350-pound nose tackles by himself like Fred can, and no center in the league reads the defense like Fred. Really, when talking about making offensive calls (not just line calls) and blocking on the interior, it's not close.

Mathis may have been better than Martin at one point in their respective careers, but not now.

Herremans, really? He was the weak link of the Philly OL last year and, IMO, far and away the least capable of the 10 OL in the discussion.

I really love the fact that our guys are the hardest working position group on the team and don't really seem to care about the hyperbole. They set the tone for the team, in every way, and IMHO, that's nothing but good.

A case could have been made before they released Mathis. When healthy, there is very little difference between Peters and Smith. When healthy, Mathis has been just as good as Martin was last year. When healthy, Kelce has played just as well as Frederick. I think we can all agree that Lane Johnson is better than Free, but Leary is better than who ever replaces Todd Herremans. While Collins will more than likely be better as well, most vets don't give rookies too much credit.

That's the biggest part for me. Frederick is a rock in the middle and he's never bulled into the quarterback. That's invaluable, especially for a guy like Romo. Kelce is an excellent player and a fine technician, but he's light and I've seen him bull-rushed when his technique isn't perfect. They're both great players, but Frederick is better, with room to improve even further.

Mathis may have been better than Martin at one point in their respective careers, but not now.

I prefer to compare apples to apples and left guard to left guard. I think Mathis was more sound than Leary overall, while Leary is the more powerful player. But again, cost and upside tilts the scale in Leary's favor long term.

Herremans, really? He was the weak link of the Philly OL last year and, IMO, far and away the least capable of the 10 OL in the discussion.

I've always liked him and love his versatility. He allowed the Eagles to plug him in wherever they needed him and he acquitted himself well. I think they did him wrong by just cutting him. And though he may be nearing the end, I think he's close in talent to Free.

I really love the fact that our guys are the hardest working position group on the team and don't really seem to care about the hyperbole. They set the tone for the team, in every way, and IMHO, that's nothing but good.

I agree. They set a great example for the entire rest of the team with their attitude and work ethic.

IF Peters is better than Smith the edge is very small. Frankly I think Martin and Mathis are a wash-and guess who is getting better?. Herreman vs Leary- edge to Herreman but not a big one. Johnson is better than Free. Kelce and Fredrick at best a wash and I think Fredbeard has the edge. and any edge each has is in the pass protection. As regards run blocking its frankly not that close. And our youngsters will steadily improve in pass protection.

Now without Mathis and Herreman the center of their line is vulnerable especially as it has been mentioned that Kelce is subject to Bull Rushing. So only in a diseased philthy mind is their O line now better than ours.

No surprise. They've cast their lot with a chronically injured quarterback (Sam Bradford), overpayed a back in Murray the Cowboys literally ran into the ground last year (probably only to "steal" him), and now deleted one of their best blockers to do so. Also don't forget they lost Jeremy Maclin.

This is why I just don't understand the love fest with this team. Bradford may be an "okay" QB but he is far from a dependable, playoff caliber QB. Their OL WILL take a step back if from nothing else but age and lack of quality depth. Their defense may be improved BUT when is the last time a team has fixed their defense by high profile signings? Offensively...they lost their ONLY established target and everyone forgets about that.

Chip Kelly and his "system" may be the most overrated aspect in NFL history. Last season...that offense took a significant step back; What was really great about the offense? They didn't pass the ball great, they turned the ball over and they didn't run the ball good on a week to week basis and somehow they are going to be better when they have clearly taken a step back in talent?

One of the Reasons I wanted AP in here just to explode all current season rushing records with this offense and keep the pretenders quiet.

It's like a some sort of Beauty and the Beauty convo going on here. And no AsthmaField, you are NOT the Beauty. :p

haha...ok back to the Eagles guy. Well ex Eagles guy.

Chip is great. He will single handily ruin that team.

Bet Michael Irvin will change his prediction soon of them being a fav for the East.
