I'd do the same thing if I were Jason Taylor. That's "his house" and if a Cowboy player didn't do the same thing in Texas Stadium I'd be pissed.

Those fans were from Asheville, NC. My home state.

What is the board's opinion of that? What is the right and wrong in that situation?

Taylor was trying to pump up his team.

I don't agree with it and I hope the league fines him, but that was what he was trying to do... wrong way to do it though.

The FANS are what makes the sport go... PLAYERS have no business taunting or intimidating fans who have paid the price of the tickets. It was MORE than simply tearing down a sign... it was getting in the face of the FANS who support the game.

If the LEAGUE or the individual TEAMS want to address the issue of (opposing) fan banners then the no fun league has taken another step back. Here's a great idea... don't accept the money when they want to buy a ticket- then you don't have to worry about them expecting to have the same rights as the home team fans... sheez.

Taylor would have been in trouble if he'd tried that with me. Not that I'm a tough guy but I would have verbally abused him so bad (and still hung my sign) that he would have come after me. Then I'd be rich. :)

That was WELL before the game even started. The Fox crew showed it well before kick-off.

How is that pumping up you're team?

"Hey guys? Did you see me just rip that guy and his wifes sign down?"

"Man I am FIRED up now JT....YOU DA MAN" "Thanks for ripping that poor dude and his old ladies sign down. We are gonna WIN now."

I can see how that would fire me up to play.

It was more to do w/ his own EGO than his team. He is like - By DAWD I am Jason Taylor. Gimmeh the sign NOW !!

I agree. OTOH........He would of received a beer facial had it been mine. ;)

That was my first thought, throw my beer at him, but then it was probably an $8.50 beer so I should drink it.

What if the fans would have fought him back, what then security would have come in escorted the fans out, they would have missed a great game.

WHat if the fans fought back and actually made physical contact with taylor, would the police have come in and taken them to jail?

Players should just leave banners alone, even if it is their house, those Cowboys fans paid their money to support the Cowboys they should be able to put up their banners.

Maybe if Taylor wouldn't have wasted so much energy taking the banner down, he would have been able to play more, those shots I saw of him gasping for air and looking all tired were priceless.

Uh.. you are obviously right. Taylor was out there all alone with his team in the locker room. They would have never have even known that he had symbolically just upheld the honor of "their" house. That what you are saying, right? Gotcha.
