Jason Williams? How Does He Look?

I see what you did there, clever. :)

He flashed some impressive closing speed late on the game when they were chasing the QB.

Physically, he's got it all. I know being "lost" is part of being a rookie and coming from a low level program. Hopefully, he has some instincts.

I guess I see this as the rookies got their 1st taste on play in the NFL it allows them and the coaches the oppertunity to see what they need to do to improve as players. At this early stage I'm not concerned with how any of them played last night.

Umm he looks like a struggle workout warrior...

Agreed.

You can see the speed this guy has. He did produce at a lower level. We'll just have to be patient with this guy it looks like.

Watching the game last night, Jason Williams looked a lot thicker that i thought he would be, especially considering how fast he's supposed to be.

Thats what I thought, too.

I say a LB, #58, play through a block from an o-lineman on a running play and make a nice stop.

I looked up #58 and saw that it was Williams. I was surprised to see him listed at 238 pounds.

Jason Williams didn't look too bad tonight....He looked a little like a bigger, more athletic Kevin Burnett.

Huh? I thought it was Brandon Williams who was out injured.

He was. What does that have to do with my post?

It is a joke. Get it. The injured guy looks like Burnett.

You really are a robot, aren't you?

Oh, that's right, how could I forget that Burnett missed a few games back in 2005? I guess maybe it was the fact that he played in every game for each of the past three seasons.

Gotta love those personal digs. Keep it up.

I swear you find a way to completely own somebody at least twice a week. Gotta love this site...

How about the fact that his development into a contributor was stunted by those injuries? He would likely have had far bigger a role much earlier had he been healthy during camps and preseason, not had games where his snaps were limited, and been able to practice more.

But hey, Mr. Testy. It was a joke. If you had a sense of humor you'd understand that. Now go jump down the throat of the guy with the funny Burnett avatar.

Jason Williams looked tentative in coverage (like he did in practice), but I was more concerned about his tackling angles especially against the run, too much thinking IMO.

But he was a beast when blitzing. People mention Carp being a step slow, but JWill unleashed the pain and always laid out the QB or ball carrier. I thought Gradkowski was going to have to be carted off the field on one incompletion. He tried to bury the QB every time he blitzed. THAT was very reassuring.
