I did some looking, and it seems that there are actually quite a few mock drafts that DO have Jason Williams going in the 3rd round..... It just isn't the sites that also have player profiles.....

Hey, I think J-Will will be a good player for us. I may have considered trading up for other players, but our guy seems like he has nice upside.

Speaking of the Titans....loved their draft (for their team that is)
Also really like what the Jags did for their team

I bet Williams plays above and beyond what the experts predict. I also think he will be on the field for more than 1/2 the defensive plays as well.

Also took Will Moore of Mizzou way ahead of our guy.:D

In my last mock I had Williams at the 4.01 pick.
I have no problem with him going 20 picks before or after.

He was a great pick. No worries.

Right. The guy was one of the last minute risers, like DeMarcus Ware. If you looked at teams' draft boards (and internet mock drafts) in the months before the 2005 draft, you'd see Ware well below where he was drafted. The sudden rise was obviously due to being from a small school but testing extremely well at the Combine. Given the uncertainty around such players, it wouldn't be uncommon to have a wide range of grades. But any linebacker that is 240 lb. and runs a 4.4 is going to be graded by most as a 3rd round pick AT LEAST.

The DuSable graduate started getting traction when he performed well at the East-West Shrine Game and then turned heads at his pro day March 4 when he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds with 14 teams in attendance. That was on a basketball-court surface though and there were some questions for a guy who is 6-1, 241 pounds. Some didn't believe he was that fast. Try faster. Any of those questions were answered when he showed up March 12 at Northwestern's pro day and ran again. This time, on a slow FieldTurf surface, he clocked in between 4.42 and 4.48 seconds according to scouts we polled at the event. The interest only grew.
That's how you shush the doubters. He ran faster than A LOT of corners this year.

Yet another one.....

You're trying to justify what pro scouts selected by going off of what some no name people and fans wanted to pick?

I dont care what mock drafts say. I'll trust our scouting department. We're not the Raiders.

No I am not, I am posting it for the people that still think that Jason Williams is a reach because NFLDraftScout, Walters Football or worse the talking head named Mel Kiper said that he was......

I know everyone wants to bash the raiders right now, but have you seen footage of mike mitchell? This guy looks to be the real deal. Kiper clowned oakland when they picked him in the second round, but he looks better than any other safety in this draft. He is like Williams in that he wasn't invited to the combine, but put up great numbers in his pro day. I would have loved to have both, but am happy with Williams. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1MFvgIKhtY this is a highlight reel of mitchell.

Yup, he was ranked as a 2nd to 3rd round prospect going into the draft, so we took him in the right spot.

By quoting even less reputable sources? If Walter "whiffed" by being 4% below average on one year's top 100 list (what a statistical farce) while being a long term top 3rd in huddle mock rankings, what does that say about some these sources that don't even qualify for a Huddle Report Ranking?

You had me convinced earlier about not relying on non-scouts especially beyond day one, what gives?

I am not relying on non scouts, I think that they are all quacks and just guessing.... But there was and still are people that are determined that the pundits know what they are talking about, and I am just showing that not all the pundits had Jason Williams as a late round pick.

Me personally, the ONLY list that pay any attention to, is Goose's list, because it is based off how NFL teams have actually setup their draft board.

So you want to listen to all of these sites and experts now, but not when they provide overall draft grades? Interesting.
