Im kinda wondering what he would do if he got some playing time.

Im scared of our LB's in coverage against the Eagles and I would like to see him play against the Seahawks who run a similar Offense.

He was turning it on at the end of the pre-season and his speed could bring another element.

I think against Philadelphia we will be missing Burnett.

Burnett is the same injury prone guy in San Diego as he was here. The guy is hurt again, on crutches right now with an ankle injury and no timetable on his return. He would probably be hurt if he was here anyways.

No we won't... Also, Philly can't block us upfront. Their oline is awful..

Im not crying about us not getting him resigned.

I just had a lot of respect for his skill set and Jason Williams athleticism is intriguing.

I also don't have faith in our staff to give a young player like him an opportunity.

As much as we give him **** around here, Bobby Carpenter is actually having a solid season as a coverage nickel LB, and nobody can deny that fact. The only way I see Jason Williams playing at LB is if Carp gets hurt. What the team needs to do is get Williams ready for special teams. That's the role he was drafted for immediatley anyways.

That and he doesn't seem to shy away from contact,he's willing to stick his nose in on a play.Atleast that's what I thought I was starting to see before he was injured in the pre-season.

I'd love to see what he can do as well.... but I really think this is the biggest reason why we won't be seeing much out of him.

I know your not.

I'm just saying if he was still here, we probably wouldn't have an opportunity to play him because he's always hurt. So we won't/don't miss his skill set at all IMO.

But I agree, I think Williams should get a couple snaps during the nickel, with his speed it would be great for him to be able to cover Westbrook/McCoy outta the backfield.

I was just looking over the roster on the team site. Jason Williams is now listed as 6-1 246, I guess he's been working hard in the weight room recovering from the injury.

the thing is Bobby is doing a great job as the nickel LB, he did a hell of a job covering, one of the most prolific recieving tight ends in the history of the NFL. groom jason behind brooking, give him time to develop like we did austin.. have him learn from brooking and bradie, and when brooking hangs em up in a few years, he will slide right in, and be ready.

Geez... 246 with that speed?

I'm with Catch. We need to get him on the field.

When we drafted him it was well documented that he was very raw...I don't see him doing much this year...

Barbie seems like he is fitting in well with the nickel and we do have 2 starting LBers capable of playing the nickel in case of injury..

I think the cowboys will being him along slowly and I'm fine with that...

Call me crazy but I think ou rlinebacking core is solid in coverage. I'm more worried about the secondary even though they've been solid lately.

Am I missing something? JWill was 241-242 when he was drafted.

And Williams may not be ready to play the nickel linebacker spot just yet, but he would be a vast improvement over Carp on goal line.

Kiper had him at 237, my Lindy's mag 238. The team had him at that or possibly 240. Many were comparing him to Kevin Burnett who is a little undersized for the inside and had trouble putting on weight.

Amazing isn't it?

We can't draft WR's high because according to Jerry they take 2-3 years to develop and won't contribute immediately.\

BUT, we can draft players at other positions whose main role early is to just be a special teamer.

Does this make sense to anyone else?
