I doubt it. There probably won't even be half of that. I just told you only 4 TE's have 60 or more in the history of the league and all of sudden 10 are going to pass him in the next 10-15. Wow you are living in a fantasy world.

You havent been paying attention to the position.

And they aren't the ones voting people into the HoF...
Indirectly, they really are. Because, based on Pro Bowls and All-Pro selections, you won't find another skill-position player who is equally as accomplished as Witten already is now, who is NOT in the Hall of Fame despite years of being eligible.

He'll pass Sharpe - I don't think passing Gonzo is possible.

Well, hopefully Witten does, though I personally don't like the whole "first ballot hall of fame" stuff. You're either a Hall of Famer or you're not, if you're good enough to get in then you should be accepted in when you're eligible, not 10 years of waiting around. But I guess that's another discussion for another day haha.

The only reason why someone might wait around for induction is that the class is particularly strong in a certain year - you make it less special if you induct 20 people in a single year

How about 8 to 10? When the HoF first opened they typically elected 6 to 8 people per year. That isn't counting the first year in 1963 when a whole mess of people got in understandably. Back then there were only 14 teams in the NFL. Things evolved and the merger occurred. Now there are 32 teams in the NFL. There is a back log of deserving players. It isn't unreasonable to up the number of guys who go in per season to 10 and still stay away from obscene numbers that might take away what it means to be a Hall of Famer.
