No idea if they're looking to sign someone in particular, but here are a few candidates

Jonathan Hankins, DT
Jared Oldrick, DE/DT
TJ McDonald, SS
Zach Brown, LB
Bradley McDougal, FS
Eric Walden, OLB
Mario Williams, DE
Dwight Freeny, DE
Devin Taylor, DE

Etc

none of these other than possibly walden
hankins does not add a pass rush

i can only guess sheldon richardson trade - 8M base salary

I dont know why anyone thinks he will not fulfill this contact ........ the guys is a once in a lifetime player who has barely lost a step and seems rejuvenated by Zeke and Dak.

Great move.

He has alluded to this being his last year.

I don't think we're really targetting anyone specifically, but McDonald is an interesting name given our need and the fact Kiffin coached him at USC.

I get the feeling it's because they want to forecast to HOU that they intend to keep Romo through the summer. Good negotiating tactics, if true.
Or maybe this will give them extra money to release Romo before June 1. How ironic, use Witten's contract to release Romo.

Romo's contract is already on the books and we're still about $10M under the cap...what does Romo have to do with anything? We could keep him with or without moving $ around

I was just talking about FA in general. I don't think they're clearing cap for anybody. It's just accounting

they dont need the cap space right now.
they can do this at any time.
they still have 9m of space and no where to put it

He's a beaut! Since he doesn't rely on speed, I think he'll be effective till he retires. Dude has innate sense of the opposing D and the space in the seem.

Good news today with this and waking up to @waldoputty's Jaylon info :)
I love JWitt, but I believe this is just for cap hit purposes, not bc they actually see him playing until hes 38 years old

Well it wont be Chris Long. pay situation? Tell me more plz

Cannot fathom us going for him.
Never know for sure though

An absolute luxury it would be ,on 3rd down replacing morris with Adrian Peterson(talk about imposing our will in the ground attack?,,,that would sure G.D. do it.)
