I know most are not in the mood for something positive. But I need something positive before I try to sleep.

Jason moved into 4th place all time on the Cowboys receiving yardage list, moving past HOFer "Bullet" Bob Hayes.

He is 645 yards behind Tony Hill for 2nd place on the all time Cowboys list. Drew Pearson in 3rd is 419 yards ahead. Michael Irvin is a long ways away still.

He is now 106 receptions behind Irvin.

He is 18 receptions behind Ozzie Newsome for 3rd all time among NFL Tight Ends. 19 more and he is alone in third and aiming for Shannon Sharpe next.

He and Steve Smith of the Panthers are tied for 45th place all time in the NFL. In case anyone wonders, Smith has 2 more seasons on Jason. Here are the players just ahead of them that they could reach in the next 4 to 5 games.

37. Laverneous Coles, 674
38. Herman Moore, 670
39. Ricky Proehl, 669
40. Amani Toomer, 668
41. Anquan Boldin, 665
42. Ozzie Newsome, 662
43. Bobby Engram, 650
44. Charley Taylor, 649 (HOF)
T45. Jason Witten, 644
T45. Steve Smith, 644

Steve Smith will move ahead of Jason this week as we are on our bye. Carolina has their bye in week 9.

Good night all.

He is 2nd in receptions and 6th receiving yards so far this year. This is for the entire NFL including WR,RB, and TEs.

That is just ridiculous for a TE that blocks. I'm glad he's a Cowboy.

He also was second among all tight ends in YAC going into Sunday and should be No. 1 now. He passed Rob Gronkowski, who was 13 YAC ahead of him before Sunday, and unless another tight end who was way behind them had a huge amount of YAC on Sunday, Witten will be the leader.

Another Witten stat: He's only 33 catches away from having more catches by age 29 than any other player in NFL history. He's only five catches away from Tony Gonzalez's tight end record for catches by age 29.

Here are the all-time leaders in catches through age 29 (based on their age on Dec. 31 of that season) --

1. Randy Moss, 676
2. Andre Johnson, 673
3. Tony Gonzalez, 648
4. Jason Witten, 644

Of course, Larry Fitzgerald is only eight catches behind Witten. He's only 28, so he should pass Witten eventually, even if Witten sets the record. But Witten should blow past Gonzalez's record for tight ends.

That's awesome!! I hope he gets a Superbowl too. He definitely deserves it.
