how's about we stop hiring the go kart driver and go hire the guy that can actually DRIVE an Indy Car? We have an opportunity to right the ship. I want Jerry to be aggressive but get it right. Go get permission to interview Aaron Glenn NOW. DO NOT WAIT. Or call and see if Tomlin is available under any circumstance.
If he wanted to, he could bring in a successful, genius college coach with new ideas. Worked with Jimmy Johnson, right?

I made a post yesterday stating that I want the head coach of Notre Dame to be the Dallas Cowboys coach Marcus Freeman.

However, if that’s not possible, I think we all should listen to what Jerry said a few months ago about Jason Witten …

Jerry Jones, former owner of the Dallas Cowboys, has praised Jason Witten and said he could become a top NFL coach:

  • Understanding of football: Jones said Witten is sophisticated and understands the nuances of football.

  • Work ethic: Jones said Witten has an extraordinary work ethic.

  • Physicality: Jones said Witten understands the physical and mental aspects of being physical.

  • Comparison to Dan Campbell: Jones said Witten reminds him of Dan Campbell, the head coach in Detroit.

  • Potential to be a great coach: Jones believes Witten could become a great NFL coach.

  • NFL coaching in Witten's future: Jones said he sees NFL coaching in Witten's future "without a question".
I think this is our next head coach.
OMG, are we going to go with a high school coach!!! Witten is smart, but he is got a long way to go

I know he has been a steady and solid head coach but when Tomlin said today he couldn't say definitively if George Pickens was late for the Xmas game or not, that didnt sit well with me. Something ain't right about that.

Lol pushing this as a Dan Campbell thing would be typical cowboy nonsense.
I recall Dan was here around the time when Witten was a rookie and he was a big influence on him. That being said, apart from both of them being TE's there is no reason to believe that Campbell being a successful HC in Detroit would translate to Witten being a successful HC in Dallas. First off the cultures of both franchises is completely opposite of each other.

Jerry is forgetting one very important thing when comparing Witten to Campbell -
Campbell has been coaching in the NFL for 15 years: 6 with Dolphins including as HC for 12 games (5-7 record) in 2015 when Joe Philbin was fired after 4 games, 5 with Saints as assistant HC/TE Coach (Under Sean Payton) , and 4 as Lions HC.
