For those that think Witten is really slow...watch that clip and examine the strides of the safety trying to track him. Does the safety look like he's running slow?

I'm not saying Witten--at this age--is fast or was running away from him...but just go back and watch the clip.

Witten's a big guy w/big strides.

We don't have a TE on the roster who deserves snaps over Witten. It's not really close, either.

I wouldn't mind him losing snaps if we want to try the two slot-WR packages a *little* bit more, but even that's not something I think we do more than throw in to give teams something else to prepare for and have to cover.

Switzer is going to get more involved in the passing game here in the coming weeks, though.

They need to stop the jet sweeps and screens to Switzer. At this point, teams are keying in on that because that's all he's been brought in to do (Whitehead 2.0). They need him to spell Beasley a good 5-10 snaps a game and play true slot. Then and only then will the defenses play him honest enough and open the door for the Philly special (screen pass for YAC...boosting Wentz's YPA...sorry Risen Star).

Except the misdirection off of that gave us the Elliott receiving TD today. That was a beautiful play call.

'Tis true. I forgot about that. I'm probably just a drunk Dak fan at this point, but his razzle-dazzle skills are something that seem so natural to him that I don't recall seeing it with any QB in a long while. Years ago, I'd cringe if I saw a QB doing some of that stuff out of fear for a fumble, but it's become common place for the Dak-lead Cowboys. If I'm not mistaken, isn't that the exact same play design we used after Pitt last year (double-fake).

Running routes and catching balls I am in agreement, blocking we can have a long thread about later this season. Love him just starting to see some frayed edges that started several years ago with his blocking.

That’s exactly right
Until we have a te who earns more snaps he is the best option
I’ve really wanted to see switzer get a few plays in the offense besides jet sweeps

If Cowboys fans want to call him the GOAT I won’t argue too strenuously. But I do wonder if there’s a single person outside of Cowboys Nation that would do so.

Anyway, he’s an all-time great even if calling him the GOAT may overstate things.

or as he was called here yesterday...Bob Hope......

never understand why fans hate their own team.

I will say this, I saw helman say it and then someone asked witten after the game if this was one of his best catches.....Helman said top 3....

I have to say I disagree though, he has had some amazing plays and moments/catches through the years.

I need to make a comprehensive Jason Witten reel of some kind when I get the time.

Here are some of my favorites off the top of my head.

This is the final TD scored by a Cowboys player ever at Texas Stadium.

etc etc etc...I will make a comprehensive witten reel at some point
