Man, he really screwed us. I think we were preparing for the loss of Bryant, not both. The timing is the worst part. Retire after FA, during the draft, which is why we ended up with Shultz. Smh

I dont think they looked that hard at TE's. And I think that was a real mistake, even if they think Witten was coming back.

He didn’t screw anybody, it’s his body on the line, if he’s done he’s done

They are the ones that really screwd him, 1st ballot HoF player with awful coaches for his 15 year carrer (except Parcells), mostly bad OL and RB, bad D's and a horrible QB change in 2016.
He new this ship was sinking and he left, I'd say it was great move by him.

Yep, big mistake. A solid TE is a young QBs BFF. I would like us to take a look at Brate in the off season.

Would you have stuck around with Dak throwing the football in your general direction? He got out because he knew this team was doomed. Had he believed for a second that this team didn't suck he would have stuck around to try and win a Lombardi. He didn't screw this team, they screwed themselves.

IMHO I feel that Witten was pressured to retire. He saw the direction the team was going and felt the time was right to jump ship. Don’t blame him.

I'm sorry but neither Dak nor Zeke were ready to be team leader faces of the franchise. Zeke because he is an idiot and Dak needed time behind Romo.

But Jerrah saw a marketing opportunity and Garrett is always is save my job mode so we got this premature anointing

And do you honestly believe me could be any better oit there than what we have. I mean the .witten on last year, not what you are thinking on his entire career.

Heck even the Witten of 4 years ago could not help this team of this year. Not with Dak and Linehan.
And he sure didn’t help the
AST 6 to 8 games last year either. Not the difference maker that many want to hang on to the belief he could have.

Jason Witten commanded respect from opposing defenses same as Dez Bryant no matter how ineffective fans seem to think they were. That opens up other aspects of the offense.

Dak isn’t the answer but having Witten our there for leadership and to make defenses think twice wouldn’t hurt.
