Jason Witten

Witten did get his first penalty called on him since his return in this Texans game. I think it was a block in the back call. I'm still waiting on his first offsides flag.

I’m not a troll...I’ve been on here for yrs, just don’t post much! I didn’t post this for shock value either...I base this thought on what I see...he will not provide any explosive plays down the seam and I doubt he’ll provide much in the way of blocking. The block in the back for example from last night, yes it was an iffy call at best but that doesn’t exclude the fact that he could not cross the face of the defender to provide a better block. I am an avid fan of the Cowboys no doubt about it and would enjoy to be proved wrong on this!
I got news for you then, you are playing a troll in this thread because from afar you are in no position to be saying Witten doesn't belong.

Everyone has an opinion.

I respectfully disagree...I think Jarwin can do everything that Witten can at this point! He may not be as savvy but that comes with time and experience, something he won’t get with Witten here this yr!

He can't block and he can't stay healthy. Don't you think that's important...lol

How is my opinion any more troll like than yours...have I been disrespectful in anyway? I respect your opinion that he does belong, I just happen to disagree with it!

I am not so sure that he is needed this yr. I know this is blasphemous but I just do not see it. He has done a lot for the franchise over the yrs, I just don’t like the move. That’s all, I’ll take my lumps.

He has a penchant for penalties at the wrong time. Showed again last night.

Based on what? You aren't in the locker room and you don't seem to care what the other players are saying about it. It actually is disrespect to dismiss Witten like that and ignore the comments from inside the locker room and practice field. If there were complaints being made or other issues arising from his return, we would get wind of that stink but it just simply does not exist. You seem to just be a guy looking for a problem when there is none.

From afar that may be the scuttlebutt being said, but from inside the locker room, all the comments have been very positive about Witten's return. The TE's seem to be getting something out of Witten being around, that's what they claim. I just don't see how anyone can have an issue with Witten being back without eye witnessing how he interacts with the other players day to day. No complaints, no problems so where is the issue? He's freaking Jason Witten, get outta here with that noise.

Witten is a credible starter in the league. He's a little expensive, but HOF Witten won't be low balled, and Jerry probably wants to pump up those reception yards numbers for the HOF.

On the bright side, Antonio Gates was cut at the end of April and is still a free agent. He's very close to done. 39. So it looks like he isn't a threat to top Witten in yards or receptions. Witten will retire as #2 for TEs in both, #4 for receptions got all players. Gonzalez will be passed up by Fitzgerald for receptions this year, leaving him at #3.

I was against the move of bringing Witten back, but he has looked quicker, faster and more productive throughout training camp this year than he did his last few years before he retired. Like others have said, he obviously is our best TE currently on the team, and that says a lot. Plus, with his experience and leadership, he sets the example of what our team needs, especially our young TEs who definitely could use his tutorship.

Witten is padding his record for Cowboys all-time receptions and yards. I just don't see any problem with Witten putting his stamp on this team again,

Okay...do you feel better??

Has anyone reviewed the tape on that play where Witten was flagged? I'm curious if that flag was legit.

Yes you’ve been disrespectful to Jason based on nothing more than training camp. By the way he has made 1 catch for a 1st down in limited action.
