Basically, it's your eye socket... I've broken both of my orbital bones, at different times, playing basketball...

The way it worked was, I was always the shortest guy on the floor, so no matter who I was guarding, they'd look to take me down low, post me up... this is especially true if I was forced to switch on defense... so I wound up under the basket for a surprisingly large number of missed shots, for one so small, and when those boys came down with the rebounds, flashing their elbows, guess what was exactly at elbow height??

That's right, my face... and so, I wound up with the highest cheekbones in the family... it worked out OK, though, my face was kinda lopsided after I broke the first one... so the second one kinda evened things back up... LOL...

women kill to have high cheekbones

they did you a favor lol

I don't debate Walker's right to do whatever he pleased within the constraints of the law.

But when one considers that when pro athletes have been attacked or murdered, more often than not, they're at a club, just left a club, or on the street or parking lot near a club. It just makes no sense for them to be going to clubs when they know they're targets.

Is that fair? Nope. And it doesn't excuse idiots who go after them. It's just the way it is.

Unless he has damage to the eye from the blow then the injury is unlikely to bother his vision. You can get a eye muscle entraped in the fracture but its uncommon. Sounds like the advice to stay away from clubs is good advice. Maybe that's why Bill told them to stay away from them.

it only sucks if you break your orbital bone badly, then your eye hangs

he'll have swelling for a week, a bruise for about a week and a half

javon is an idiot and he deserve this. Why are you spending so much money don't these guys learn they are not part of regular society any more stop partying with the regular people in the hood. They hate and they rob and kill so i feel zero sympathy for this guy. They should know that they are targets already....

the orbit is more what surrounds the eye than a bone but I get your meaning.

MAYWEATHER-WALKER RUMORS GATHER STEAM

Posted by Mike Florio on June 17, 2008, 8:10 p.m.

A league source tells us that there’s definitely talk among more than a few players of some potential connection between the face rearrangement suffered by Raiders receiver Javon Walker and boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Though the rumors don’t implicate Mayweather, the unfounded innuendo making the rounds on the web are that Mayweather and Walker were in a champagne bidding war at some point over the weekend, and that at some point thereafter one or more persons with ties to Mayweather came across Walker and proceeded to pound the living crap out of him.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that the rumors among NFL players trace to the Internet rumors, and not to anyone who knows anything about what happened.

As for Walker, it’s unknown whether he has said anything to anyone about what occurred. There’s a chance that Walker will opt for the “I don’t remember nothing” approach, if he has any concerns about possible retaliation.

Per media reports, Walker was robbed of $3,000 in cash and $100,000 in jewelry.

He’s a guy that was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Packers linebacker Nick Barnett told WBAY-TV in Green Bay. “I mean, it’s happened to him a couple of times now. He was just trying to go out and have a good time. It’s not his fault. It’s scary that that can happen to another individual.”

I wouldn't spend $100k on jewelry even if I was making a million bucks a day.

When you're a professional athlete, moreso when you're a well-known NFL wide receiver, you're automatically a target in the eyes of anyone attempting to make you their victim. It is literally nuts to paint an extra bullseye on your own rear end by parading in public with $100K worth of bling. Insane.

I get your point about the bling, but looking at some of the pics, it was quality over quantity. So he wasn't completely iced out, rapper-style.

Watch and earrings were pretty much all I saw on him.

On the flip side, I tend to think that logic ranks right up there with a woman's attire being pointed out if she's been attacked.

No one deserves to be attacked and considering he was at one of the hottest spots in Vegas, I can't imagine how he ended up alone on the street unconscious. Ranks right up there with Hamlin being bopped up side the head with a street sign.

you're not a dandy?
I have no idea what that means. I hate jewelry. It's as simple as that. Waste of money, IMO.

a dandy is someone who draws attention to themselves by the style of their dress, someone who is flashy if you will

I don't dig jewelry either, got a nice Citizen's watch, that's about it

$100K? And these clowns wonder why they're broke as a joke a few years after they leave the game.

Greed doesn't differentiate between quality or quantity. It just wants what it doesn't already own.

There is never any justification for innocent people to be attacked. Never. However, evil targets what it desires most. Is that fair? Of course not. It has never been fair to any and all victims throughout time itself. The best personal protection for anyone to live by is to truly understand what evil is and prepare for it as best they can anywhere 24/7.

It's impossible to control someone else's evil intentions, but you can potentially counter those same evil intentions with greater awareness and diligence.
