The more I read up on him the more I'm hoping we snag him in the third and use the first two picks on defense. He's a one-cut back, not the fastest, but he makes up for it with power. What also intrigues me is that he's a proven receiver in college, something I feel most of the other RBs in this draft didn't demonstrate enough.

I do like that most of the runs in here are right up the middle. Some of them are perfectly blocked though, so I'd like to review some of his game footage. Admit I haven't looked much into him, but he seems like a carbon copy of higher rated Yeldon. Not opposed to him, for sure

I have liked this guy, s long as they don't reach for him when that "run" on RB's happens in the 2nd and 3rd rounds...

Shades of Marion Barber on that highlight reel.

I've only watched a few of his games, but he looks like one of many backs in the coming draft that could have success behind this offensive line.

That said, I love that he runs with power, and he doesn't seem to be an easy guy to tackle.

The team has showed interest in him, and I think he'd be a great pickup in the 3rd or 4th

Gurley,Yeldon, Johnson, Allen, Davis, you get up slow after you tackle these guys ten times, then hope the next play is a pass. Not too different to how the rams Dline felt after this bad snap to Tony Romo.

I've always kind of disregarded Javarius "Buck" Allen during his first few years at USC. We had a lot of "bigger" names at the RB position. When Tommie Robinson got to USC (he's at Texas now), he kept saying that Buck was the top guy everyday in practice. Tommie said he would mention it to Lane Kiffin and that Kiffin kept telling him no, play the other guy (Silas Redd, Amir Carlisle, Tre Madden, Ty Isaac). After injuries and transfers, they had no choice but to play Buck and he ended up the team's offensive MVP as a redshirt junior.

Once he played, Buck reminded me of a poor man's DeMarco Murray. He was quick enough but not fast; he was strong but not overpowering; he was a dangerous receiver out of the backfield. He wasn't spectacular but very consistent and very dependable. I wouldn't hate it if we landed him in the 3rd or 4th round.

Allen definitely seems like the kind of back that the team covets, not only in terms of his style but his draft value in the later rounds.

I'd like to see Buck drop a few pounds ala Le'Veon Bell a couple years ago and get quicker and a more explosive. 210 would still be a good playing weight for him. Good all around back with the ability to be a workhorse if need be though.

For me its either Gurley in 1 or Buck Allen in the 3rd. Those are the only guys I think the Cowboys may have a shot at without moving up or down in the draft that I really like.

I like Ajayi in the second but would be perfectly happy with Buck Allen in the 3rd, he would be my favorite out of the others. He has the pass blocking ability that is key like @Tobal mentioned above and when you think about him running behind our offensive line, the one cut you see in that highlight reel is something you would see regularly. The line would give him a huge hole and he would be juking a safety or LB to turn a 5 yard gain into a 12 yard gain.

I loved DeMarco but I think Allen would do very well behind this OL.

He looks very good on tape, I prefer taking him in the third to focus on defense with our first two picks.

This guy would be a star behind our line, he has a nice combination of vision, power, and determination. His vision just jumps out right a way, it is Emmitt Smith like. The ability to determine how the defenders are going to react or when they are committed too far in a certain direction in a split second is a gift.

Looked at the video again. This is the guy I want. I LOVE the way he sees the whole field. This guy has elite vision and above average physical ability. What is his weakness? Is he a fumbler? Below average pass protector?

Does a bunch of things well but doesn't excel in any one area. I think he'd be a great backup and just an ok starter. Third seems too high in a very strong RB class.

He's got good size, power and enough speed to be a problem for LBs to stop. I've seen his forty listed at 4.54.
