Romo led the league in Passer Rating, Total QBR, completion % AND yards/attempt last season.

He has the 2nd-best Passer Rating in NFL HISTORY.

"Yeah, I'll put him at #9!"

If you don't rank him as AT LEAST a top-5 QB today, you're a blind clown who shouldn't be taken seriously.

I always smh when some mediot or BSPN clown does a QB ranking and they ALWAYS, without fail, screw up one of the most fundamental measuring criteria.. SB wins.

How hard is it to comprehend that playoff wins, SB wins, and wins as a whole are TEAM accomplishments, not individual??

If you're gonna rank QBs they should be measured exclusively from their respective team, which means using their individual statistics to measure against one another.

Wait they didn't even show a Romo breakdown? Wednesday was Flacko... Thursday was Rivers... they skipped Romo?

We have already seen what happens when the Cowboys do have success: It's practically in spite of Tony Romo ("they took the ball out of his hands"). He will need to not only win SBs but put up Montana-like performances, and even then it might not be enough. That's the nature of being a Cowboys quarterback. Everyone needs a supporting cast, but only when it's the Cowboys do they get mentioned as excuses.

Boy you nailed it right there - excellent post. The big stupid stuff now is that since the Cowboys have a running game Romo has cut down on his mistakes.

WHAT? He has a career INT rate of 2.6%. Who else is at 2.6 career? - Peyton Manning, Joe Montana and Steve Young.

BTW - he has thrown 85 less INT's than Eli in his career but no need for him to cut down on his mistakes.

Good thing he finally has a running game so he can finally cut down on his mistakes.

Idiots.

Was second in the NFL last season in QB turnovers. Only Jay Cutler had more.

Can't be Tier 1 and a turnover machine. Luck has a way to go to get there

those slobbering over Luck keep ignoring his record against GOOD teams (not W/L but turnovers)

I bet he has watched at least 300 hours of game footage to come to his conclusion.

None of these rankings matter. But it still surprises me that Tony's not consistently considered a top-5 QB. Especially after last season.

If the team has real success ever, he's going to vault into that just-behind-Aaron-Rodgers consideration that I think he actually deserves, though.

I don't ever think that Romo will get the praise that he deserves. The pundits will always find an excuse to exclude him from being elite. If he was playing for another team like Atlanta or Indy they would be proclaiming him as one of the best UDFA prospects ever. But since he's a Cowboy their hatred for this team runs too deep. Thus they will always brand Romo as choker even though he gets a ring or two before he retires.

He's a notorious Cowboy hater.

Romo was arguably the 1st or 2nd best QB in the league last year.

I understand Rodgers, Brady and Manning - but anyone after that it becomes debatable.

I don't understand Manning.

true yet the President of the Seattle Bus company is lauded yet we all saw what happened when they put the ball in his hands at the end of the last SB

I don't understand Manning.

39 TDs last season despite only 3 TDs in the last 4 games due to injury.

Heck he was on his normal MVP pace and on track for 50+ TDs minus the injury.

Age is probably catching up with him, however, for the first 3 months of the season he was his typical amazing self.
