Jax-Dallas Penalties

CowboysZone DIEHARD Fan
In recent memory, when Shawn Hochuli's referee crew is working a Dallas game, the most gawd awful, ticky-tak, and downright wrong penalties are called on the Cowboys, as well a slew of non-calls that hurt our Boyz. I believe his crew even set some flag hurling records calling Dallas games.

I was shocked to see Shawn Hochuli's crew throw 6 penalty flags on Dallas while Jacksonville got 13. Did Big Mike finally get thru to the players about penalties, did Jerry invite Shawn onto his yacht in the offseason, or is Shawn Hochuli saving his flags up for the regular season and the playoffs? It's a mystery.
For pre-season their marching orders are probably different so they're not trying to keep the game competitive or help out the home team. It's probably about keeping the game from going on for 5hrs lol,,,, there were some gawd-awful late-game plays where every single d-lineman for Dallas was being held or tackled and no flags. Maybe they felt they made their point in the first half(?)

The “refs screw us” brigade usually waits till regular season. Can’t y’all wait till the first game at least? If we go 12-5, I already know the refs screwed us 5 games and called it straight for 12 games.

Smh.
Yep.
The woe is me victim mentality is well represented here.
And you better not say a player on another team is any good either.
Because that will start the personal insults.

Maturity at it's finest I tell ya.

I don’t think the refs are necessarily trying to screw Dallas… but that was an awful call. Oh well, the team can still see the play Tolbert made. Good for him.
Oh I don't think they do it on purpose. I think it just happens. I don't know if they get caught up in the mystique of Dallas or what. They're human and human error will happen. But to me it seems like we get killed by a non call or a bad call at the wrong time that shifts momentum or kills momentum.

Trevor Lawrence is one of the best QB’s in the NFL. Brandon Sherrif is one of the best OL in the league. I think Calvin Ridley is a very good WR that is going to have a great year after his suspension. The Jags have some good players.

AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith are one of the best receiving duo’s in the league. I think that Fletcher Cox has been one of the best DT’s for the last decade. Philly has one of the best OL in the NFL.

Let’s see all the personal insults that I get.

Well a few things. Its not a victim mentality to say your team is getting screwed by officiating. And if you post 100% of the time negative stuff about the Cowboys but always have something positive to say about "another teams" players? Then yeah its gonna signal red flags.

Sometimes the refs do legitimately screw the Cowboys. That's not an excuse, that's a fact.
I'll further this statement to emphasize that OTHER teams NEVER are victims of bad calls.....in case any of you haters were thinking that "bad calls happen to everyone and they usually even out over time".

We usually have to assume we start the game down 21 pts, as that's what THE REFS cheat us out of every game.....if not more!

We absolutely get some bad calls. More than other teams? I don’t know…

Yeah know. I love the “well go follow that team” comments if you complement another player or team. Fragility at its finest.

All depends on who's doing the post.
You're universally liked here so the insults won't come.

That’s hard to say because I don’t watch other teams as often. It’s changing now but I remember watching teams play who had good defenses and they just their corners play. That’s starting to happen for us.

Well, thank you. You’re right about it depending on who is saying what. There are way too many posters who hate other posters… some with good reason, I admit.

Yeah, I’ve definitely seen great, all pro type players get plenty of the benefit of the doubt. IMO, that has more to do with just the players than with what team they’re on… at least that is what I think.

I do think that personal bias can sink in with refs. They’re only human, afterall. And we know that Dallas (aka America’s Team) is universally disliked by other team’s fan bases. Does that seep in to their calls? I wonder sometimes.
