I know its way early but I am bored so here goes.... I believe he will be there at #18, esp. if V. Young comes out. The kid has all the tools and a better arm than either Leinert or Young. Played in a power conf. and made Vandy respectable. A lot of teams said he was the best QB they played against (and that includes Ark. which also played USC). How often can you get a potential franchise QB at #18. Its a perfect situation for him. He can sit behind Bledsoe for a year and then take over. I think he would be better value than a safety or the third or fourth LB or OL taken.

If he's there at 18, which would be a surprise, I will soil myself if we don't take him.

i have been saying that we need to go defense with our 1st round pick, LB or Safety.

plus, if we upgrade the RT position it will be through free agency.

but if this kid is sittin there at 18, Jerry AND Bill need 2 grab him!

here's a question for you guys. if they do draft this kid, if he is there, do you think that would mean Bill will stick around after next season? what's your opinion? i would take that as him going through his last year on contract and retiring.

If we took Cutler at #18 I would be all good with that. But if a steal at RT or a guard comes along at #18 I think I might go there. Our OL is a joke.

Cutler can be a good QB that is for sure.

As weird as it sounds I am not that big on Vince Young or Matt Leinart. I actually though Quinn and that QB for Ohio...Troy Smith are both better then Young or Leinart. Never saw OHio QB Smith play till that Bowl game but I liked what I saw in him.

One thing about Cutler is he clearly has the stongest arm of any of the QBs coming out. Huge arm.

I have given it some thought and I think we really need to go OT in round 1. I really think that would put us in contention next season.

The jury is still out on Henson, If he doesn't perform well in NFLE, I'm all for drafting a QB in round 1 next season (provided we don't reach for one) . After all, we did give up a 3rd for the kid and he is locked down in Dallas for years to come. Henson has a strong arm, good mobility, good size etc... Everything you look for in a QB. I am a frim believer that he just needs some experience to get going. NFLE will either make or break him.

I honestly believe that Romo will never be more than a backup in this league, so for now I will put my eggs in Henson's basket.

Better arm than Young? No way. The only reason Cutler is a 1st rounder this year is because of the overall weakness of the Class. Only Leinart really deserves 1st round consideration. Young and Quinn are staying put. Worry about QB when a better prospect is in our reach.

Take him. This draft is so full of o-line prospects that we could trade up in the second to get one if we pass them in the first round.

I don't see any chance of him falling pass the Dolphins.

He's another Kyle Boller.

For the future of the team and franchise, I'd take Cutler over any player in college who'll be available at #18...............

But Parcells will never...NEVER do it.

That's insane.....have you seen him play? And not for a very good team either...he is a stud and one of the toughest QBs I've seen....he gets killed every game, but stands and delivers and scrambles and delivers...big arm too.

I hate to tell you this, but for all his superman heroics, it's well known that Young does not have a strong arm as one would expect from a guy his size. Not a weak arm, but very average according to most scouts.

What I am very curious about is where all of the fondness for this player comes from.

I will be honest, I have never watched a Vanderbilt game from start to finish the last few years. And even if I caught a piece of one, this player never stuck out.

So who exactly has seen him play extensively? Or is this simply a GOOGLE-campaign that sounds really nice?

I think everyone that wants a QB is going to be severely disappointed.

I think so too. There's nothing to suggest the team is disatisfied with any of our 3 QBs. Fans are, no doubt. But the team sure doesn't seem to be.

I live here in TN and I've seen Cutler play alot. He is very streaky and a gunslinger. He has games and plays that make your mouth drop. You say "Did he just do that?" alot. But he has stretches of plays and games where he is totally ineffective. He is tough and a competitor. But he gets lackidasical at times seems to forget everything he has ever been taught. Watch him play any of his games against Tennessee and you would take him first. Watch him play against Middle Tennessee and you wouldn't take him in the 7th. He throws a great fade. Has huge arm. Only the LSU QB has an arm like him that I have seen. His mechanics are all over the place and he throws into coverage alot. This year they put alot of designed dump offs and that seemed to help him. He can move and slide and still make a play. If Mike Holmgren were our coach I would trade up for him. With BP, I wouldn't take him. Waste of time and a draft pick.

I think you're right. You will have to wait until the next head coach for that dream.

I like how you're thinking! Although he may not be around with the 18th pick, I would love to get this guy: Michael Huff!!!
