Seems out of character for him. Def not out of character for his mother though, and if you read between the lines it appears that that’s who’s behind this.

"The Daniels family is deeply disappointed and feels profoundly disrespected by LSU's decision to give Jayden's number to another player," the statement from Daniels' spokesperson said. "Jayden and his family had every reason to believe that his number would remain a meaningful part of his LSU legacy and would be honored and protected in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to the university."

This is actually the 2nd “controversy” involving a WFT QB’s jersey this week, after Stefon Diggs asked to wear #7, which has been unofficially retired for Joe Theismann.

ego and arrogance

I am surprised that the Skins *I will always call them that* thought that much of Theisman. He got a ring and was their starting QB for only a few years.

Took them to two SB’s, was on the team for 12 years and was the primary starter for 8 seasons. Would have been more if not for the devastating leg injury.

IMO the fact that he was under center for the franchise’s first Super Bowl win carries a lot of weight.

OK, I can see that. BUT when you consider the HISTORY of that Franchise, Theisman was not all that.

Seems like an otherwise grounded kid who lets his mother wield way too much control over his life. Only a matter of time before this type of behavior extends to meddling within the WFT org… if it hasn’t
I didn't read anything in that article about how his mom is trying to control his life.
Just sayin.

Don't tell the guy his number will never be worn again. Problem solved.
“Jayden made it clear that he did not want his number given to another player, and he believed his wishes would be respected. His Heisman Trophy-winning season and everything he accomplished on and off the field cemented his place in LSU history. To see his number given to another player is incredibly disappointing and feels like a failure to honor the significance of what Jayden accomplished at LSU.”

What part of this quote reads to you as if LSU told him it would never be worn again?

Jayden made it clear that he did not want his number to be given to another player?

That reads to me like an inflated ego. Period. He didn't want his number worn? Everything he accomplished? Failure to honor the significance of what Jayden accomplished? Get out of here with that.

Uh, please excuse me on my ignorance, but when did.....nevermind. So Lil' Jayden has his feelings hurt bc LSU issued a jersey (#5) to a highly talented incoming player. If I had the final say-so at LSU, I'd forward the same letter back to Lil' Jayden, his representatives & his momma with the initials "**" on it. .....then I'd erase every public accessible info regarding him, his likeness & his perceived #5.

I live in DC, it’s well known. Pretty sure the cowboys trolled him earlier this year for being a mommas boy.
I did hear about him being a momma's boy. I thought the article would go into more detail.
I live in the DMV too. :starspin:
