Two speedsters on the field could mean for a friendly battle.

KaVontae Turpin put himself on the NFL map during the 2022 preseason. After a punt return and a kick return in the same game, there was no doubt that the Dallas Cowboys had to sign this speedster to the full-time roster.

Since then, Turpin has had a pretty successful career. He was first-team All-Pro return specialist last season and has two Pro Bowls in three years to boot. He has even carved out a role on the offense. Now, though, Turpin might have some competition on his radar thanks to Dallas' fifth-round pick, Jaydon Blue.

Didn't you read the last sentence of the article?

"Blue might be the guy to eventually take over as RB1 in the future."

That makes it true......
I didn't click the link; I read what was posted in this thread. Now that I click the link.....they sure had far more praise about the kick returner than the RB....they believe he has a chane at RB because the other RB's suck lol.

Need to be versatile, especially with his speed.
Have both back for the KO with the new rules. Heck same for a PR. Can do reverses with their speed. Could be fun to watch.

Nice problem to have is a backup return guy with serious wheels. Other than that, Turp will be the return man. He is paid to do so. Blue is here to hopefully run and catch the football and not fumble. Let's focus on that.
This might allow Deuce Vaughn to make the team.

I like Turpin as a return guy, but I am not sure about him as a receiver.

I'm not paying much attention to the RB room until the pads come on.
When someone said ""Blue might be the guy to eventually take over as RB1 in the future.""

...I was like well "heck"...I don't even know who RB1 is then! Just let it play out I guess?

RB by committee is good, as long as they are being used properly.
RB by committee is bad, very bad. It's what you do when you've failed to find a starter. No team does this on purpose, it's a fallback plan.

Yeah, so many of these guys just write to get clicks. There is nothing that indicates that Blue is "already making Cowboys coaches rethink the depth chart." That is a statement of fact without any facts to back it up.

The Cowboys need to forget about contracts , trades, and draft position at RB. They should let those guys go out an earn it. A "depth chart" at this juncture should be next to meaningless.

This team is obsessed with undersized players. It’s the reason why good teams physically dominate us.
