Jaydon Blue is not the answer. Hilarious.

Blue ran a 4.38. I wouldn't give up on him too quickly...

Known for his explosive speed and acceleration, Blue ran a 4.38 40-yard dash (95th percentile). His ability to contribute both in the running and passing game makes him a valuable asset for the Cowboys, especially as they look to add depth and versatility to their offensive arsenal. Blue’s home-state roots and dynamic skill set could make him a fan favorite in Dallas.

The 4.38 were with a torn groin. He two times under 4.3 at his pro day.

Point being productively top shelf fast as well as deceptive at the line or on a pass pattern. Stuff to keep linebackers flat on their heels. Very useable when paired with personnel.

I think Deuce making the 53 almost depends more on the rookie backs. If both rookies make it then Deuce could be rb3 based on special teams and cap savings. If either of the vets make Deuce would get cut because they would value the rookies more.

Jethro says they tried to trade up for Blue but couldn't get the trade done. What a doofus. Why would you admit that if it is even true. Jones should admit they are so inept that can't even negotiate a 5th round deal to move up a few spots to get their guy.. Instead let's try to make everyone believe they got a steal on Blue.

That said, i like the Blue pick considering where they got him. Like the pick or not they need add speed to the offense.

I'd be a fan of adding Nick chubb. Chubb is a great team leader and is already back to squatting 500 pounds. He has got a chip on his shoulder to prove he is still a player and it takes a couple of years to get back from what he suffered. I wouldn't bet against him and IMO, he would beat out either Sanders or Devonte. I'd like dobbins too but he's probably looking for a big contract.

The starter is Javonte Williams. 220-225 lbs.

Now that he is fully healthy and only 25, he may surprise you.
Dude can play.

I thought Denver had found their starter for a long time after Javonte's rookie year. Called that wrong.

This pickup has big upside and downside.

 Blue already has his detractors. Funny how fans can't get behind their new players after the draft. They don't even give him a chance.

If he's not what they hoped, then they have 3 other additions.
So big upside with limited downside…imo

Great value in round 5, even if Blue is not a 3-down workhorse.

My guess is Blue becomes RB1 sometime this season.

He is not a solution but he absolutely can carve out a role here. He makes Deuce expendable for sure.

I think williams being paid a $1M bonus, makes him a shoe in. no way jerry doesn't keep him and throws away 1M. I think Blue is a shoe in and probably Sanders as a veteran.

what does Vaughn bring to the table? nothing. what is he special at? nothing. he is not big pile mover. he is not fast home run threat. he can't run between tackles. he is not fast enough to run outside consistently. we thought we found something that could be special. fact is, he is not special. he is way below average and waste of roster spot. any of the other RBs can play special teams and fill that role. I don't trust him as RBs as much as I do the others.

so to your point, I think both of the Vets make the team and blue and Maybe Mafa if we keep 4 RBs instead of going extra somewhere else. My feeling is Mafa is going to PS.
Deuce and Luepke time has come to an end in Dallas, along with Davis.

Vaughn and Davis are 100% gone barring injuries. Luepke I'm not so sure- but Mafah makes his situation tenuous.
it all depends on if they decide to keep 4 RBs or extra CBs because of injuries or perhaps deeper WR group. a that point the last guy on the depth chart is a number game of what we get out of it.

Mafa may end up on PS.

Not a bad pick if he develops into a 10-12 touch a game player. I hope all our picks stick because of talent. I know the story on this coach but give him a legit shot with a legit QB.
