Jaylon smith contract ramifications

So if the defense plays much better this Sunday. Was it because Jaylon was not out there. Which I am sure many will state that.
Or because Danny Droppings is just not that good. :muttley:
Or maybe it is because Garrett Sucks! :lmao2:
What if they play way worse.

uhm... then why the hell are you reading this thread?

Maybe I should start another thread kissing Big Mikesarse,
or maybe another thread on how great Dak is.

Because I thought it may have included information that was not widely available and distributed

Not sure how accurate this is, it was reported all off-season the Cowboys had to make a decision on the 5th day of the league year on Jaylon. We would probably need to see the actual language in the contract, because injury is a broad term. Especially because it didn't cause him to miss time last year. If it was an elective surgery I can't see that impacting the clause if he didn't miss games in 2020. Normally those injury terms involve more substantial injury assurance, or ones that cause a player to miss significant time. Archer should get a copy ;)
He scheduled his surgery right before his physical so that he could not pass it and that would guarantee his salary. He would have done the same thing next year

Uhmmmmmm could someone tell me why Jerry or Stevie would let that clause in the contract

Injury clauses are in just about every resigning Pro Bowl players contracts. When Jaylon resigned, he was coming off of a Pro Bowl season.

This right here was what worries the front office about next year.

That’s because no one in the media really understand the details of Jaylon’s contract. It was reported this morning by Jane that he got the wrist surgery right after the season with a recovery time that would run into the start of the new season. He could t pass a physical until sometime after the season started which triggered his injury clause for this year. The Cowboys was not going to let that happen again!

So I get why they cut him right now. But, what is the hit for salary cap for next year by getting rid of him. Dead money? Cap hit? Savings?
Excellent question. This is what this form is supposed to be about . Not whether or not a linebacker Complained about the fans.

I think Jaylon has played ok this year, making a few key plays and stops. But no where near his 2018 season. To me he looks much slower than 2018. and seems to struggle running and keeping up.
I have not watched him specifically during games, so really can't comment to other plays. But many on here have, so will need to go by some of their opinions also.
His release does not bother me.
He spied Hurts pretty good when we played Philly, other than that not much to talk about. Smith isn't that football smart to be making the type of money he's made over the last couple of years.

I don't take these cuts lightly....I feel bad for these players, not because they have made quite a bit of money and will be set for life if they know how to manage it....I feel bad because this is all they know and fans make light of their situation.

Horrible contract and a hard pill to swallow. So essentially now, we are "Paying" Jaylon to play for another team. Hopefully, that won't be a team that beats us in the Playoffs. That would be ironic.
