not sure what to make the latest about jaylon from the FO:
"He looks faster than a speeding bullet and more powerful than a locomotive so far, leading many fans to make the very reasonable assumption that Smith is now, finally, healthy. But Stephen Jones just appeared on 105.3 The Fanand offered a nugget that should absolutely terrify the rest of the NFC East: Smith isn't at full strength yet. "
"I've been told he's still got some room to improve. He's still not 100 percent. he's hitting the 90's now."

The only question now is mental.

He was not mentally ready for the NFL early last season.

Vander Esch as a rookie appears to be mentally ahead of where Jaylon was for game 1 of 2017.

Jaylon sure looks mentally ready to me.
How can you say LVE is more ready afte a handful of plays in one game.

I think last year it was a combination of mental and physical. So of course LVE would be more ready as he does not have the injury to overcome nor know how he will hold up.

It sure sounds like Stephen is trying to steal my J-Train nickname.

Confirmed: He peruses this forum while taking his daily dump.

I think they’re talking about him being Superman when they say more powerful than a locomotive...

And I don’t think Stephen said that, it was the author.

i can believe that he is not yet 100% even though he looks really good.

they are probably tracking his physical performance and still seeing steady improvement.

the FO has been quite misleading over the entire process so there is a lot of uncertainty in the recovery process from:
1. he could play in 2016
2. he could have played in the 2016 playoffs at an elite level
3. he is going to play 2017 but be limited to number of plays
4. he is going to be 100% in 2018
5. he is 100% now
6. he is only 90 something % and still improving

i guess a lot of it is expectations management, and then when the improvement happens and it becomes we knew it all along.
it was a risky 2nd round pick but very rational one based on available info under uncertainty.
they took the risk but wanted to manage fan expectations.

I was a non-believer when we drafted him ill admit...

But watching him live moving around at Oxnard on top his play so far in preseason has moved me to really believe we might have hit on something big
