This is true but I wonder how much losing LVE hurt him. Also, I'm not sure coaches allowed him to play to his strength.

Jaylon can get to the QB and the last staff would rather have him running backwards and turning like a sail boat instead of coming down hill and try to get the QB.

Sideline to side and downhill are his strengths.

Turning backwards and running is not.

Not a single reference to "Hot Boyz". I wish The Swipe would similarly disappear.

But he gives a good interview. He should give more of them. I got a better impression of him here than all the Swipe, Hot Boyz, and merchandizing he was doing last year.
All that nonsense felt contrived in a way.

Which pretty much fell into line with Garrett's personality.

Players take on the persona of their coach they say so it makes sense.

I cheer for him but like others in this thread have said he went in the wrong direction last year.

Lots of red flags

Got paid.. Worried about branding himself.. His play on the field went south in a hurry.

He was incredible the year before but last year he looked like he did in his first season which was not very good.
Look I get it. You can be disappointed in his lay on the field. That's fine. But he didn't get paid and started prepping himself differently. He branded himself before he got paid. Players are capable of having charities and companies as well as play football. My fear of Jaylon is he may be physically limited as far as moving lateral but I don't question his work ethic or heart.

Its wild the narratives on LVE and him are completely different for some reason. LVE was bad he just was too hurt to be bad all year.

Im not the clown that was addicted to Garrett. LOL

Ill continue to laugh in your face and make an example of you. Let us all never forget the pathetic example of a Cowboys fan that was you and any joker that hailed Garrett as a great coach.

They need hopeless fans like you in Cincy and Cleveland. We dont go for losers like Garrett around here.

you're the clown that continue to talk about him at every turn, you're addicted , you might be borderline psycho, you're so dumb and have been called out on your lie by others here. There hasn't been 1 person here who said Garrett was a great coach. Lying is a habit of yours, isn't it.

And over that 25 year period, there was one thing Jerry was really bad at - picking coaches. Gailey, Campo, grabbed Parcells out of retirement, Phillips was never a good HC and then Garrett. To act like it was Jones who turned them all into bad to average HCs is pretty funny.

what's funny own you don't understand that the organizational structure and philosophy may have played a significant part in the success of the organization. Even someone like Troy Aikman has made that very clear in his own words.

I got a much different vibe from him in this interview than in the past. More professional. Less hype-ish.

Why should I stop talking about it? :lmao2::lmao2:

Again.........you keep saying the word dumb, but I was the guy that told you Garrett was a joke. YOu were the clown that defended him night and day as our HC.

If there was anyone proven dumb, it was you. :muttley:

You're dumb, you didn't like him, so you said he was a joke, him not being here doesn't make him joke, plenty coaches are let go that get hired again. but you're infatuation with him is hilarious, so much so that you can't stop talking about the dude. it's almost like you have crush...lol You also criticized the cowboys for hiring Kellen Moore, you were wrong, so what do that mean?

Jaylon is just such a likable dude man.
Comes in with potential career ending injury and has just kept working and getting better.
He's in insanely good shape and ready to go.
I'm really excited to watch him do something other than drop back 2/3 of the plays.

Turning backwards and running is not.

At one while they had Jaylon in rush packages where he could run/twist stunt with DL.
He was basically an extra DE/rush specialist.
But when DT Michael Bennett arrived, they quit that Jaylon-twist and basically just used Bennett as a rotation piece.

Jaylon’s adjusting well to his new and “important” role.

No way to know about Jaylon until we see them play in the new scheme.

The 2019 defensive scheme was a disaster and it had the biggest negative impact on the LBs.

Back in the Rams playoff game from the 2018 season, the Rams game plan was to target the LBs because they knew the DL would not protect them.

I still don't think he has fully recovered from his knee injury. I would say that this season is going to mark him being at 100 percent.

And while I don't want to make light of his injury, I can't lie that I used to chuckle how he couldn't right himself once he flew pass the ball carrier or quarterback because he didn't have his legs under him. He look like he was running on ice and couldn't readjust fast enough.

Be that as it may, I think the switch in position will serve him well. I think he's going to do well on the edge as opposed to in the middle. He's more of a pass-rushing linebacker and a heat-seeking missile.

Clear eye to the quarterback, Jaylon.

He's gonna be in hyrbid style scheme that is gonna see him as a constant flying off the edge and defending the run..
He'll be in the best position where's facing the action per blitzes and defending the run, head on or in pursuit.
they'll have to teach jaylon to become a better blocker-shedder thru traffic

As a weak side OLB, i'm interested to see how we use Jaylon on occasional pass coverages.

and i have much more faith in this coaching staff of George Edwards to devise ways where his coverage skills that
he will have to use from time to time is simple, ..doesn't ask him to take on the Ertz, Goebert and Ingram per heavy assignments
tasks.. as well as having to defend a Barkley or Thomas Sanders in flush man coverage all over the field.

But i seriously doubt these coaches weill have him in the middle of the field, going man to man coverage vs a WR ... on three straight, damn downs. (Bears' WR allen robinson)

By all reports, Jaylon is having a great camp. I think he's more suited to the OLB role, rather than the MLB role.

He played poorly last season at times. He flashed at times. Consistency was not good. I think there were scheme issues and coaching issues that hurt him last year.

I'm excited for him this year. Maybe....just maybe, he's finally 100 percent (or as close as he'll ever get). It's amazing he's even playing right now. Time will tell of course. He's such a great story and rock-solid individual. I'm rooting for him.
