I’d rather have Jaylon than DLaw... if it comes down to it.... I’m not a big fan of over paying Dlaw...

I'm not either but it's not going to kill Dallas to over pay for him. Still torn on the dlaw thing though. For sure not an easy decision to make.

He's not.

Vander Esch is better because of his coverage ability.

Jaylon can thump better then anyone in football right now but it's a passing league and Vander Esch covers a ton of space.
Wrong. Coverage is LVE’s weakness.

Don't forget as an RFA, there would pick draft pick compensation (likely a 1st) for any other team to sign him. A first and big money is a tough pill to swallow for a very good, but not elite player.

I expect he turns the corner and becomes elite this year.

 Some of the things you post never seize to amaze me. Zeke is the straw that stirs our drink.

Well they cant rely on this offense only. Its not good enough..they need to keep a good defense for once. That and I dont see Dallas paying zeke anyway.

I would cut Tank to keep Jaylon,, but they will both be Cowboys for a while.
Not worried in the least about retaining Jaylon, he is not going anywhere.

Sign him to a decent contract yes, but there should be some kind of consideration from him for drafting him so high and working with him though his recovery

Need to rid the league of a salary cap. Parity bull**** is like income redistribution forced on us by socialists
The owners want the salary cap not the players. I guess the owners are for socialism now.

Is it even confirmed that Jaylon is an RFA as opposed to an UFA? There is some question there

No question at all. He’s an RFA. He was in NFI his entire first season.m, and since he was paid his full salary, his contract did not toll, but he did not play, so he did not earn a year towards free agency. A player must be active for 6 games to accrue a season towards free agency. Even though he is entering 4th and final year of his contract, it’s only his 3rd year of service.

You don’t understand. Zeke is the offense. Without Zeke, the offense would be horrific. Everything goes through Zeke in one way or another.

I do understand that. I just want a good defense for once. Plus I don't see Dallas paying Zeke after the next 2 years.

This is no longer a passing league. RBs are being drafted very high in the draft again and teams are becoming run 1st teams. Even the Pats who never gave a 2nd thought to RBs drafted one in the 1st round last year.
Still a passing league the TopShelf running backs are also good to great receivers coming out of the backfield.

You haven't even seen the 2019 offense perform yet. Stop making statements that have no bearing in fact and move on from 2018.

Is that effected by him being taken off the NFI list? He was and then subsequently placed on IR as the window closed. That's where I at least aren't sure.

Doesn't matter. When Lee was in for Leighton we gave up bigger plays. Lee was never fast he relied on anticipation but now he has lost a couple steps and can't get in position fast enough
So it didn't matter that the guards and centers were on our LB's? That was Sean Lee's fault?

Nope. Although IR (and PUP for that matter) are included as being on the active roster for accrual purposes, because Jaylon never made it on the Cowboys’ 53 man roster, his time spent off of NFI does not count towards an accrued season. A player must make it onto the 53 man roster for an IR stint to count towards an accrued season for free agency.
