I was just reading up on Albert Hollis and Marcus Lattimore who had similiar knee injuries. It seems likely Jaylon Smith has a good possibility of getting back on the field, but to what degree? The injury ended both players careers, though they did play rb which is a different animal when considering speed, cutting, etc. The main difference is Jaylon tore 2 of his 4 ligaments while lattimore and hollis tore 3 while dislocating the knee. Whats unclear is the severity of the nerve damage to Smith and if he will regain full feeling and be pain free.

The severity is not unknown. His doctor said the outer nerve casing was intact and that it had not been severed, split, or elongated.

You also left out the helmet to the knee and artery damage LAttimore suffered.
