Jaylon Smith Signed

I don't think it's envy. It's probably just anger that he sells "inside information" to people who don't know better. He's a fraud.

If you are going to do the deduction by inserting an alternative you need to demonstrate how they cannot both be true at the same time else you have deduced nothing.

They flat out say what you say so of course but that only feeds into the envy because then that means Fischer doesn't deserve the spot that he has. It all feeds back into the same central theme.

They aren't mutually exclusive, and I never claimed they were. I'm sure there are some people who are jealous of his status, but I don't really get that impression when I see these sort of things pop up. Obviously, just my opinion. I don't assume you are jealous when you rag on Broaddus, either. You can be critical without being jealous.

You said you didn't think it was A but instead it was B. It is what it is.

My criticism of Broaddus is that he doesn't discuss the techniques of skill position players like he does linemen which leads me to believe that he is limited in what he sees with skill players. OTOH, I also state that he clearly knows what he is talking about regarding line play.

Compare and contrast with how booze and RS operate. They bash Fisher incessantly and it's all bad like they have a bone to pick.

Surprised they gave him any guaranteed money, I sure wouldn't unless it was contingent on his playing significant downs.

I think I would of been happier with a TE in the second.. That bad.

It's pretty standard for 2nd round picks to get two years guaranteed.

Guaranteed salary. The first half of the first round has been able to secure fully guaranteed four-year contracts. The fourth-year guarantee negotiations are integral further down the round. Second-round contracts usually have guarantees for the first and second year, and so on.

Offsets. Offset language allows teams to recapture guaranteed money if the player is released and signs with another team, preventing “double-dipping.” Teams are typically insistent on having this language, and they’ve been largely successful in getting it, trading better payment terms and/or cash flow to maintain their precedent.

I don't like Fisher much either but the jokes would be better if they didn't read so much like envy.

Well, you got me Fuzzy Wuzzy Lumpkins.

I have to admit I have a little bit of envy for a fraud that gets paid real money for selling several hours old news, and the one quality is that it supposedly came straight from Stephen Jones' lips.

I take it you are a paid subscriber for Fisher's material.

I'm not. And doubling down on my basis for claiming your envy is a nice touch.

Isn't this. Like Bruce Carter?

I really don't think so. This is a gamble on better talent.

Carter was not nearly as clean of a prospect.

If Smith can come back, he is a game changer. Carter wasn't even close in all the traits you measure without a tape measure.

Smith checks all the boxes that Carter didn't.

He want to do well and wants to come back, which makes me secretly root for him.

Carter's injury wasnt this severe.

Of course.

But I think Smith wants this badly.

Carter, well I think we can tell where he is coming from psychologically.

It all comes down to the body for Smith. With Carter, that is not the case as his career path has proven.

Oh I agree. Carter always struck me as somebody who coasted on natural ability and didnt love the game. Probably why he is on his 3rd team in 6 years.

Bruce Carter was a pretty talented prospect. Jaylon Smith is better. Top 5 talent this year.

If he comes back 100% he'll be the most talented defender we have on the roster. Hands down.

This is without nicknames being factored in.
