At this point, LVE has better instincts, Jaylon has more speed and athletic ability. They make a good pair. If Jaylon can develop an eye for the ball like LVE, he will be special. LVE can be very solid for a long time.

It seems to me they are both potentially elite in different ways. Lve has a elite brain, size and tackler.

Smith has elite speed and pass rush ability.

So I don’t really know if you could call one better.

I think right now LVE is better but Jaylon is still playing crazy well. Just posted a video of him covering Nelson Agholor 30 yards downfield on a go route - the Godbacker has returned, baby.

Yup. I hate people trying to play one off against the other, advocating a favorite as being the true star, when I see the two complementing each other. It's good to have two potential pro bowlers at linebacker who are on the field at the same time. They each have their strengths and they each help make this defense legit.

I really wish we could find a way to get Lee on the field with them. For some reason we don’t want LVE and Lee together. When Lee has been healthy he’s rotated in and out.

They both seem to have really bright futures.

Both are freaks of nature.

LVE is incredibly fluid for a guy his size. Jaylon has all time great explosiveness at the position.

LVE seems to have a knack for making plays, but he also plays the more glamorous position in this defense that allows for it— a position that masks his difficulty shedding blocks.

Jaylon can do anything you ask him to do, but seemingly has lapses in consistency.

I’d say Jaylon is better still, but that should be expected at this point and could change provided the raw Vander Esch Learns to use his hands better and gains a little strength.
