Yes. He was also unblocked on a blitz today and failed to bring down Mr. Wilson. He's making progress but not a difference maker, yet.Smith has had his moments, but he's nowhere near the player some on the board want to make him out to be. He whiffs in the open field much more than a good linebacker should.
That said, he's still a young player that has room for improvement. He's still trending upward as far as I'm concerned.
Umm he has been pretty average, not what I was expecting with all the hype he was getting
Jaylon is playing well, or at least above average in the NFL. However, the lazy media, the same who annually report that Dallas has the best line in the NFL, tabbed Jaylon as a Top 5 talent.
It is easy and flashy to say. But riddle me this, how many INTERIOR linebackers were taken in the Top 5 of the last six drafts?
Regarding interior linebackers and the draft: zero taken in the top five of the last six drafts. It just doesn't happen. So somebody please tell the talking heads to quit saying it!
I didn't get to watch him in college. But when they said Top 5, I was thinking, great here comes Von Miller (or something like that). He moves more fluidly than last year, but the hype around Smith and Randy Gregory (both second round projects) has not been met. I'm rooting for him.

Youre really clueless if you think he is playing great, my dawgThis is a joke right? ******* clueless fans SMH
I'm not pigeon holing him. The Cowboys coaches are the ones who decided to play him on the inside. Which is exactly where he played in college. He had 4 1/2 sacks in his entire career in college! That's not the framework of an outside rusher or Top 5 talent. He plays a position which is not valued as Top 5 by NFL scouts (my words but the actions of NFL GMs).The problem is your pigeon holing him into one LB spot. His scouting guides showed some teams viewed him as a hybrid LB who could play inside and outside.
Like to post ratio never liesBull ......... only an idiot would say he has played average
lmao
Jaylon was excellent in college. He would have been a Top-5 pick if he wasn’t injured.
I am not your "dawg" ......... Jaylon has played great this year.
I'm guessing you're a big reason the other forum shut down.
