Jaylon

chalking this game up to not being prepared for a punch in the face....everyone (expect for coaching) gets a mulligan for me
That's what wrong with this team to many excuses, they were not even competitive

Kind of reminded me of the Green Bay playoff game where we played in the 2nd half only. Although this game, we didn't play in either half. Veterans...time to lead!!

The thing I've always said about Jaylon is that recovering from his injury, his ability to play in the NFL and his potential to be elite in the NFL are all different things.

I think he's still in the recovery phase, and he's going to get better and better but I wasn't expecting an All Pro linebacker in his second game.

Frankly Sean Lee deserves more criticism then Jaylon does. WHAT IS HIS EXCUSE?

I am willing to let Jaylon take his lumps this year. He's essentially operating at 80-85% and will be most of the year.

Next year, we'll see the Jaylon Smith we saw at Notre Dame.

Looked absolutely lost out there.
Isn't attacking blockers or holes and us waiting for runners to initiate contact.
Seems slow to react taking false steps.

He gets a mulligan for yesterday though because the interior DL didn't help at all in protecting him but I hope yesterday isn't the norm. Kid deserves better because if his heart
I don't expect to see the real player till next year
Very tough injury, long time off from the game and moving up to the big leagues
Major things to overcome and I think it will be a year from now before we see what he really can be

Until Jaylon is 100%, he needs the guys around him to excel so he can feed off of them. That didn't happen yesterday. He's not ready to lead yet. Speaking of leaders, was that Sean Lee's worst game ever?

Well said. I think I was just as disappointed in Lee's play as I was Jaylon's. But I will give Jaylon some room here. What I noticed from Lee, and maybe it was part of the game plan, a very poor game plan. He seemed to drop back quite often waiting for the play to come to him. Instead of attacking. But then again, like I said, it may have been part of his duties. To cover the RB or TE coming out to the middle.

People are going to see and say what they want to say depending on their "agenda" for their post.

Hopefully when Hitchens returns, in a few weeks at best. Then Jaylon's playing time can be more productive and a better learning curve by not having to try to do it all.
