Jeanty - pro day drop

Just out of curiosity...... what were the 40 times of all his opponents when he ran for 2500 yds and 35 TDs. He's absolutely, 100% fast enough. It's his balance, tackle breaking and agility that you can see is ultra elite. He's a very unique RB
Yea that mountain division be like the SEC of the west

BUT was that jeanty's best time?
That is what I asked

Want to talk about what water payton did in college at small schools?

This stupidity about the SEC is beyond dumb
Walter Payton ran 4.4 and was the #1 pick in the entire draft. Thanks for proving my point.
SEC has more athletic players and drafted players that is closer to NFL competition. No one would question that because it’s a factoid.

How can he skip the 40? My guess is his agent when knowing the projected time advised against it so he doesn’t fall to later round 1.

I think 4.6.

If your 10-yard split is elite that can compensate-think - Emitt Smith. Otherwise, Jeanty is a back that is going to take a lot of hits and be worn down after 3 years with average stats in the NFL.

No way would I pick him at 12.
Jeanty is fast and explosive. 4.4ish.

Have people not watched this guy? How are we questioning his speed?
Right? Dude is both fast and powerful. I was excited when I heard we were going to draft him, but he's been climbing the draft boards ever since. Tremendous burst. Reminds me of MJD.

Agreed.

Jeanty is clearly hiding his 40 time and agility speed testing due to he knowing his times would not be good and hurt him in the draft. Huge red flag for anyone thinking about taking him early in the 1st round. Buyer beware...

Come on. Jeanty is one of the most bullet proof players in this draft.

And in all 3 breakaway run videos ^^^, Jeanty accomplished them against small school college football teams.

Against Penn State in the 1st round of the 2024 season playoffs this past January 1, 2025, Penn State's defense stifled Jeanty, holding him to a season-low 104 rushing yards and 0 TDs, his first time not rushing for at least 125 yards and a score in a game this season. That was with Penn State's stud Edge rushers, Abdul Carter, out of the game due to injury since the 2nd quarter.

According to ESPN Research, Ashton Jeanty had only 29 yards on nine rushes when Penn State had seven or more defenders in the box. That's because he led the FBS with 1,507 such yards during the regular season. This 2024 season, Jeanty had averaged 4.8 yards after contact per rush, and in the first quarter, Penn State limited him to an average of 1.1. The Broncos' 48 rushing yards in the first half were their fewest in a half all season.

Says a lot about how against a big school top ranked team, Jeanty struggled and had his worst performance of the 2024 season.

The longer he falls the more RB's available to us in round 2.

Did you happen to watch that game or are you going just by the that articles stats ?

Penn is full of nfl talent, while boise state was carried by jeanty.

Jeanty was consistently hit at or behind the line and it was clearly his worst game of the season against a Penn state team that was going to do everything not to let him beat them.

He is going to be a stud in the nfl.

Curious...what was Walter Paytons 40 time? Emmitts? Barry's? Jim Brown? See how asinine it is to hone in too much on straight line speed? Being a pro running back is so much more than that. It's vision, it's recognition, it's largely instinctual. How fast can you see a look, take advantage of it. Jeanty is special in that regard. When he sees something, he goes off script if you will, that's where he's ALOT like Barry Sanders. His best attribute might be his improv. He makes steak dinner out of boloney. When nothing is blocked up, Dude finds a way to get positive yards. He's very hard to wrap up and get down. None of the other backs in this draft are him. They are very good, but this cat is crazy good. Forget the 40. Watch his games. Only thing I might worry about is the level of competition he faced.

He was a one man band. Correct on all counts. I bet he plays in this league for 10 years and gets 2 SB appearances.

What's the matter? Can't handle the facts I posted about Jeanty? Tell me where I lied or was wrong?

… so what you’re saying is that his worst game of the season was still a really good game against a much better team?
