Jeanty - pro day drop

How can he skip the 40? My guess is his agent when knowing the projected time advised against it so he doesn’t fall to later round 1.

I think 4.6.

If your 10-yard split is elite that can compensate-think - Emitt Smith. Otherwise, Jeanty is a back that is going to take a lot of hits and be worn down after 3 years with average stats in the NFL.

No way would I pick him at 12.
Yep, Emmitt was worn down after 3 years...OH Wait...

lol. You asked for one. Yeah I would be concerned about the one doctor if it was his specialization. Weak analogy as it is as with the rest of points.
exactly wrong as usual; you were able to find ONE while DOZENS disagree with you

Yeah, imagine if Jeanty had to run against real defenses in the SEC or Big 10 all year. He got his draft position by piling up huge numbers. He's an SEC/ Big 10 caliber RB feasting on mid major defenses. I'll pass.
without a SEC O line, etc.
convenient you leave that out

now you're guessing... no way is he a 4.6 back.

he ran away from people on Oregon.

Realistically, he is 4.42-4.53, with most estimates at 4.48.

Here's a more detailed look at the 2024 Oregon Ducks defense:

Key Statistics & Performance:
  • Scoring Defense: The Ducks allowed an average of 19.8 points per game, ranking 16th nationally.

  • Total Defense: They allowed 323.7 yards per game, ranking 18th nationally.

  • Passing Defense: Oregon allowed 187.3 passing yards per game, ranking 20th nationally.

  • Rushing Defense: Oregon allowed 136.4 rushing yards per game, ranking 40th nationally.

  • Despite their Defensive Rankings- The Ducks achieved their first undefeated regular season since 2010 and won their first Big Ten championship.

Disagree. Speed matters. Watching him outrun the best mid major defenses isn't definitive. if you have the speed, you want that on the record. Now everyone has to wonder if he's refusing to run b/c he doesn't have top end speed and he's trying to protect his draft position or he's injured. If you are a WR or a RB or a CB. you need that 40 time.
Ditto here .

Imagine if he played with a SEC/ Big 10 caliber o-line, QB and receivers.

Can play this game all day.
True. I can point out the PSU game where he stunk. I can point out the crap defenses he ran against piling up big numbers. I can show him ducking running the 40 time at his pro day.......... his fan boys will always have an excuse.

"Yeah, Jeanty ran for 2,601 yards, 29 TDs averaging 7.0 YPC in 14 games, but have we considered that he might just be slow?"

"Yeah, I know he had a run of 25+ yards in every single game last season besides one, but have we talked about how he might actually run a 4.8?"

What even is this thread?

He didn't stink in the PSU game?

Ya'll are pointing at a 100 yard rushing game and saying "ah ha!" like it's some kinda gotcha?

192 yards against Oregon averaging 7.7 YPC. Guess Oregon sucks right?

I am literally not comprehending this discussion. Jeanty's speed is not a question mark in any sense.

The thread is a reaction his his refusal to run a 40 yard dash at his pro day. Who cares if he ran for 3k in a non-power conference. Stats don't transfer.

Yes, he did. He had 100 yard on 30 carries, 3.5 YPC, and a fumble. PSU looked like they had 2 running backs better than him.

Maybe the path to the NFL is for some of these power conference rbs to go play at a mid major and pile up stats.

His speed is obviously a question mark now. He was too scared to run.

100% you haven't watched 1 ashton jeanty game

He's going to be a top 8 pick and have a good career.

Emmitt played in the SEC. He had nothing left to prove at the college level. Jeanty played in a cr-p conference and wet the bed against PSU running for 3.5 YPC and a fumble.

Everyone attacking Jeanty in this thread are the 'RBs are a dime a dozen" clowns and have "This is a passing league" written on the waistband of their underwear not being able to cope with a RB and possibly two going in the top 12.

Every year the casuals come out and start voicing their opinions that inevitably come down to 40 times. Why? Because they have no clue of what they’re watching so the simplest way to draw conclusions about a prospect is to look at who’s the fastest.

so you judge a player on ONE SINGLE GAME against one of the top teams in the country

that is so intelligent
