The Eagles did not win every game in blowout fashion last year. A chunk, sure. The Lions, Jaguars, Cardinals, Cowboys, Colts, Packers, Bears, and second Giants games were all won by 1 score or less. The Eagles had control of this game for most of the second half, and it showed.

The dominant feature last year and again now, are the run game. The Eagle quarterback, Jalen Hurts, binds the effectiveness of both their running and passing games. He makes running the ball a game changer. The same this season with his two top speed wide receivers Devonta Smith and AJ Brown, with tight end Dallas Goeddert. Their D'Andre Swift is every bit the back that Dallas has in Tony Pollard. Except for running the ball, Dak Prescott can present as strong a picture at leadership and throwing as does Hurts. Pollard, Lamb, and Cooks can match strengths as well.

Both teams are dominant on the defensive side of the ball, and Dallas has a slight advantage in pressures, sacks, and turn-overs.

Despite this trade off in team strengths, the media knows that all it has to do is raise any doubt what-so-ever to the Cowboys fan...and they will come out in Aces against their own team. There is a non-stop clicker counter just by whispering anything of a doubt.

We have a NFL reputation of being the worse fans going. No excuses about it, this teams deserves our support.

Here and now, Dallas stands toe to toe with Philadelphia and San Francisco on bother their offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

Some of our doubts are little more than self made. Time to ride out the actual status as well as stick with their support.

If someone choses to continue social insults and put downs about what is on the field here and now...that's on them. If they want to instead be a pitfall, that is upon them for the rest of this season. I'm not saying you here, but if they wish that and attempt to include me in that, they better watch out. I want none of their craphead references in my walk now with the Cowboys.

Here and now, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Dallas are the current strength of the NFC. Let's see them fight it out now!
(Parsons) Yep, he saw Hall going for 127 rushing on just 10 carries, buoyed by that one 83-yarder. He knows the threat of Cooks, having played against him with Minnesota these past two seasons. And he sure understands what this prospective elite defense's Achilles heel has been over the past three seasons, finishing ranked 31st, 16th and 22nd over the past three seasons against the run.

"We know what we're going to get and what they want to do," says starting linebacker Damone Clark. "They're going to give you what they give you. We know teams don't want to face our power rushers, so teams are going to do what they can do not to face our power rushers.

This run susceptibility is one reason why the Cowboys re-signed 325-poound, 11th-year defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, knowing the veteran can eat up space in the middle. Why they used the 27th pick in this year's NFL Draft to select 328-pound defensive tackle Mazi Smith, a hard man to move in the middle. That's 653 pounds clogging up the middle on those snaps they play next to each other. Then add in third-year tackle Osa Odighizuwa, who is off to a nice start with four tackles, two sacks and three QB pressures in the opener, and that pain to the Cowboys' own offense during training camp. And this run stuff is exactly why the Cowboys re-signed inside 'backer Leighton Vander Esch and took that fifth-round draft chance last year on Clark, despite knowing he was going to miss most of last season having undergone vertebrae fusion neck surgery following the NFL Scouting Combine.

If Dak does what? Some how falls asleep...as the fans continually do and can't even follow the season to game two.

This offense was designed for Dak Prescott and went against the Dallas defense all camp...I wonder if he can even tie his shoes now as well?

THIS is what has to be over come:

Led by Robert Salah, New York’s defense is essentially an even better version of the 49ers squad that bounced Dallas from the postseason two years in a row.

Coming from the San Francisco coaching tree, the resemblance is understandable for Salah’s team. He leans on Cover 2/4 often, spreading his linemen wide up front and leaning on his explosive LBs to fill in the gaps seemingly everywhere.

The ability of the Jets defense cannot be overstated and at the moment, appears to be the best Dallas will face this season. As such, it will require a patient gameplan and success in a few key matchups for the Cowboys to come out top.

At the end of the day, the Jets got two sacks on Allen’s seven play-action attempts so there is certainly risk to go along with the reward.

Key matchup No. 1: Play-action vs. Jets LBs

The Cowboys don’t want to overuse play-action because they want to get the ball out as quickly as possible and not open themselves up for big plays against. But play-action is still a cheat code in the NFL and a great way to use the defense’s own aggressiveness against them.

The bad news is play-action passes take extra time to develop. Allen’s average time to throw was 2.81 seconds in play-action and while he went a cool 5-for-5 passing, he never even got a pass off on two of his dropbacks.

Last week, Dak averaged 2.32 seconds per pass.

Key matchup No. 2: Dallas EDGE vs multi-TE sets

The Cowboys should expect the Jets to run A TON of multiTE sets. In Wk1 they totaled 25 plays with 2+ TEs, with their highest EPA/play coming from 13 personnel (0.32) Additionally, they tallied 133 ground yards running outside. It’s all about the edge.

Lawrence, one of the best run stopping DEs in the game, is certainly up to the task. As is the surprisingly well-rounded Williams. Armstrong and Fowler, on the other hand, can be run-stopping wild cards.

Extra TEs means the edge gets pushed wider. This puts extra pressure on linebackers, safeties and cornerbacks.

Even though Trevon Diggs looked strong against the run last week, look for the Jets to test his dedication to run-stopping, early. Outside run fits will be imperative to stop the New York ground game.

Since the game is expected to be a low scoring affair, it’s unlikely Dallas will press much on offense. They will likely be patient and try to take what’s given to them. The weakness in the armor is likely at nickel CB.

The Jets don’t travel their CBs so Dallas will likely use their outside WRs, Michael Gallup and Jalen Tolbert/Cooks, as space clearers for Lamb and the Cowboys TEs to work.

Fans are probably down on the Cowboys TE group after their three drops in Week 1, but no one expects the drops to continue, and New York should offer plenty of opportunities for the unit to bounce back as pass-catchers.

Lamb and the TEs should be the Cowboys’ primary pass-catching weapons in Week 2 and it will be up to Carter to keep the damage minimal.

Your faults as a prognosticator. Seems your memory is on par with your probability skills. Hint, you said it was likely the team that got skunked would split with Dallas. Then you took your broke *** away as soon as the games started.
Oh Good lord…are you one of those that stalks other posters? Nice life that must be…full of self pride. You obviously see it as your job to rid the forum of anything anti-Cowboy. Well, good job.

Yes I predicted the Cowboys would split with the Giants this season. If you recall, I also predicted the Eagles to split with them as well.

Last I checked, the league has played one week of the season. I may very well be proven wrong. If I am, do you really think I’ll lose sleep?

LMAO. I agree. If Dak can go interception free against the Jets, I'd call that a Pro-lite day. It's hard to go completely pick free against the top secondary of the league.

Just drive the bus, you don't need to try and the Ferreira.
