Jeff Ireland slip...

In an interview today here in Miami, Jeff Ireland made Big Bill very mad by leaking to the media that they were going after a defensive player. He started to backoff after the reporters reminded him of the remark that he had made. The radio station here were laughing at him about this goof. I hope someone has the full replay, it's funny!

Despite a few gaffes, Ireland really did alot for this organization(i.e. one being stealing Ratliffe in the 7th round).

Give him a break.

He doesn't need a break from me, It's Big Bill the one he needs the break from. These guys have not talked to anyone here regarding who they are targeting in the draft. I know he made a mistake, but he has to deal with Bill Parcells.

I can see BP now...."This is why I don't let my staff talk to reporters!".

Negotiating with the wrong "Long". Deep into discussions, the owner says "Aren't you the son of Howie Long?" "No, that's the other Long." LOL. Oops!

Ok, I'm slow. Explain to me how it matters or how it hurts the Dolphins. They are picking first and no one wants to trade them for the pick.

I was shocked that BP was trying to sign Jake Long as his #1. I thought for sure that he'd go after Gholston. Gholston is a BP prototypical player, and the player I fear most of ending up in NE. Drew Boylhart calls Gholston the most dynamic and impactful defensive player in the entire draft. It's nice to see I may not be wrong. They're probably signing Jake Long to an offer sheet, and then using it as leverage when negotiating with Gholston.

Gholston has all the combine #'s----but did he dominate in college at all?

from what i heard on one radio segment (espn radio if i remember) --he was pretty much a 'jag" in college

Honestly did look like he meant that Freudian slip. BP is probably all up on him about this.

I wonder how many Cowboys are laughing, watching this.

:hammer:

All along I've felt the guy the dolphins are going to draft is Gholston. He's defintely the type of player Parcells craves. Gholston supposedly has the same agent as Jake Long...so don't be so sure they're only negotiating with him about Long.

22.5 sacks and 30.5 TFL in his last two seasons. That's pretty damn good.
