Good player, but he isn't a PLAYMAKER like what Jenkins has shown.

Jenkins just has something about him that I like. Someone might even call it....

Scandrick Says Jenkins Will Start vs. Denver
Posted by rphillips at 9/30/2009 12:08 PM CDT on truebluefanclub.com

The co-starter plan at right cornerback has apparently ended -- at least for now.

Orlando Scandrick told reporters in the locker room that Mike Jenkins will start again Sunday at Denver, and Scandrick will continue working in nickel situations.

The two alternated starts in the first three games, with Jenkins recording an interception in his second start Monday night against Carolina.

"I'm going to embrace my role and hopefully it will help this team," Scandrick said. "I know it will. We won last week and hopefully we can build on that performance.

"I think it was kind of an accomplishment for Coach (Wade Phillips) to say both of us were playing well enough to be a starter."

Jenkins said he hadn't heard the news until reporters informed him outside the locker room.

"I'm going to just go out there and keep doing what I was doing, and that's having fun," he said. "I feel like my last couple games were great, just playing and having fun."

And you are an uneducated football fan and individual.

What really is your point here? Not much?

Is there any reason to say Scandrick should be the starter? Jenkins has been handed the job it is up to him at this point to keep it. I do think Wade made a good argument as to why they choose to make this call.

The fact that they have Scandrick cover the slot receiver should be enough to warrant him to be allowed a shot at starting. Handing the job to Jenkins has more to do with his draft status than actually on field production IMO.

What is he supposed to say to the media?

I hate Wade Phillips and Dave Campo and all the coaches that threw me under the bus? ;)

I think it's a bum wrap for Scandrick. He had to play against the Giants his first start while Jenkins gets starts against the Bucs and Panthers. The Bucs game he was trash and outside of his INT he was okay against the panthers nothing for me to say he should be the starter.

Says the biggest Jenkins hater on the board.

Because the technique used playing in the slot is different that it is on the outside played a part. Instead of Scandrick playing outside on some downs and inside on others they felt it was better for him and the team to have him remain inside. As much as teams throw in the NFL Scandrick will see ample playing time. For me it never mattered who won the job I like them both

I think if his comments were just a one-time deal then yeah his comments might warrant some skepticism. But he and Jenkins have both been supportive of one another in this competition.

At this point, I'm not sure what his Boise State past or whatever has to do with right now considering he's consistently said and done the right thing during his tenure in Dallas.

In an ESPNDallas blog last night, this is what he posted even before they made the decision.

Both cornerbacks downplayed the competition during training camp, although they also acknowledged that they wanted to be starters. Scandrick indicated Tuesday that he wouldn't have a problem if the coaches decide to give Jenkins the job.

"I'm going to accept whatever role they give me," he wrote in a text message. "Winning is the most important thing to me."
Doesn't sound like a disgruntled guy to me.

Including basically 2 ints this year. Keep hating him then.

He has one INT. Unless I missed something.

I also thought that it was tougher on the CB when they guarded the player in the slot because they don't have the sidelines as help. Newman used to play the that CB spot then move inside on nickels.

But you can't bro. That's the thing. You always have something asinine to say because I am a Sooner Fan and you just don't like me. It's very obvious. :D

Instead of being an adult and not saying anything to bait a poster, you have to wade in w/ your prodding and childish behavior.

I have enough warnings from the mods around here, so I really don't need to get into this w/ you.

So let me give you some advice, so that we both can move along.

Put me on ignore.

This way you won't have the urge to make yourself look re-DONKulous.

Do you even know his college history w/ Boise State? The guy just holds a grudge.

Heck the other night he introduced himself from his HS.

Don't sit here and tell me that I have the wrong impression. Scandrick has SHOWN it.

That was a nice gesture on his part to honor his HS and HS coaches. That's probably the proper way to look at that. At the very least it means nothing. Find another example to hate on.

Im not hating on the guy. I swear you folks get so flippin bent over the smallest of things. :laugh2:

I could care less if he is disgruntled or not. What I was saying is that he SEEMS like the type of guy who will sulk over this decision.

Mike Jenkins was clearly the guy the past 2 games he's played.

Scandrick was HORRIBLE again NY.

Also - that was not him honoring his HS.

I read an article the other day about his behavior w/ BS. I will try and find it and post it.

I really don't see why that would be news worthy. Aren't you one of the people here who pretty much hates everything?

I agree with this. I never cared who won cause I like them both. I just want them to do well and help the team win.

I'm not saying one is harder than the other but they do require changes in technique. Jenkins is not going to play the slot even when Scandrick was given the starters role on the outside as soon as Jenkins comes in Scandrick moves to the slot. At this stage leave Scandrick in the slot and Jenkins to the outside if Jenkins shows he can't do the job I'm sure he will not hold it for long but for the good of the team instead of having scandrick focus on 2 different technique to deal with have him learn the one. I say this as a person who has no bias for one over the other. I like both and feel they will both contribute to this defense over the course of their careers
