Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. Notre Dame Hybrid Defender

You'd have a point if any of them were good in the NFL. Isaiah Simmons is about as good of a LB/S prospect as you can have, and he's struggled to even get on the field, let alone make an impact.

If you're an LB/S hybrid in college, it means you're not athletic enough to cover the deep third in the NFL. That deficiency is hugely advantageous to offenses, so you have to play LB. If you don't have the size there...

Are you trying to tell me you don’t think there successful safeties that are in the same range of 6’1 215-220?
Furthermore, have you actually watched Owusu-Koramoah play? He does everything at Norte Dame that you’d ask any nfl SS to do. And makes plays while doing it.

Bil has the Lenoir Rine dude at safety. He was 6'1 220

Like i said, bill and a few others lije payton are the only ones worth a damn. Also jeremy chinn has been great for Carolina. Simmons was 240 so its understandable. The notre dame guy will be around Chinn and Dugger size and probably test better so why cant he be a safety?

Chinn and Dugger weren't hybrids, they were just safeties lol.

Maybe O-K can be a safety, maybe he can't. But there's no precedent for hybrid players in college being good hybrid players in the NFL.

Also, fwiw, NE has the worst pass defense in the NFL, and Carolina ranks better, but has been throttled by good passing offenses.

No, I don't really care about his size as a S.

Notre Dame asks him to play linebacker, they just move him around. It's not like he's carrying slot WRs.

Yes, yes he did/does. All the time in fact

Im not talking about their overall pass d. Im talking the individual players. I havent followed closely but from what ive seen Chinn has been great for a rookie and i read Dugger is improving. If dude is 6'1 215 its up to dallas to find out if hes a SS. If he is i dont know why they wouldnt consider him if they were going to give up more than a 1 for Jamal Adams.

If we're talking about taking a secondary player in the first round, then they sure better impact the overall pass D.

This is the point. If these guys aren't going to influence the pass D, then they don't really have first-round value.

No, he doesn't lol. He can't cover those guys. If he's in man downfield, it's on a TE.

He got beat every time he was in the slot in coverage against Clemson. :30 he gets beat on the route and misses the tackle.

I don't care if he's 220, 240, or 205. If you can't cover a slot WR, you're not a first-round DB.

We almost traded multiple picks including a first rounder for Adams though.

Fans/media love these types of players because they have great highlight reels.

In the NFL those players have to either play LB or Safety. D-Coordinators don't want to move a starting Safety to LB situationally. They DBs that play LB on passing downs are generally not starters at DB.

JOK has exciting physical ability but he will have to be great a 1 position in the NFL to make it worth drafting him in the 1st.

If you evaluate him only as a LB or only as a Safety, how does he compare?

Does his coverage ability compare to elite NFL Safeties?

Can he get off blocks as a LB and can he hold up physically? LB is one of the most often injured positions and one has one of the shorter career lengths on average.

How well is Jabrill Peppers playing in the NFL? I have not focused on him with the Giants. He was an incredible college player that played all over the field.

I watched 3 full games of JOK. My biggest concern was that he missed a huge number of tackles.

IMO, he projects to Safety. If that's true, then it is his coverage skill will be the biggest focus for NFL scouts; although, his missed tackles have to be a concern.

i'm a big fan of this cat.
would love to get him here.
helluva player.
