You'd have a point if any of them were good in the NFL. Isaiah Simmons is about as good of a LB/S prospect as you can have, and he's struggled to even get on the field, let alone make an impact.
If you're an LB/S hybrid in college, it means you're not athletic enough to cover the deep third in the NFL. That deficiency is hugely advantageous to offenses, so you have to play LB. If you don't have the size there...
Are you trying to tell me you don’t think there successful safeties that are in the same range of 6’1 215-220?
Furthermore, have you actually watched Owusu-Koramoah play? He does everything at Norte Dame that you’d ask any nfl SS to do. And makes plays while doing it.
