Jerry’s pattern. He is stuck in a loop

Cause: Failed concecutive seasons with (non head coach) Dave campo.
Effect: Lead to big name, too old, out of touch hire in Parcells.
Jerry, “I get it. I get it. I do.”

Then cream puff hire, non head coach hire in Phillips.

Cause: Now. Failed decade of (non head coach) Garrett.
Effect: Lead to big name, too old, out of touch hire in McCarthy.

Moral of story. He will get it... only for a short while. Then go back to being Jerry.

I don't think it is a loop, it is more of an overreact to other failures.

For example, he always says he felt like he quit on Chan Gailey too quickly which I believe led him to stick with JG for as long as he did.

JG was a coach in training, and he doesn't want to go through that again so this time around they were only interested in someone with previous NFL head coaching experience.

Two data points don't establish a pattern.

Well I could come back if jerry lives to 100

Overreaction agreed.

He did quit on Gailey but I think run was over anyway.

Jason Garrett. Seriously question? Did he ever become a head coach? (Coach in training was never realized imo)

Parcells out of touch...really...He took a 5-11 team to the Playoffs...drafted multiple future HOF players...rebuilt the Cowboys to a great team..Had he stayed for the 2007 year...there no telling how good and far they would have gone...Not even close to correct on Parcells...McCarthy hasn't even coached in Dallas..How about we see what he does with this team.....

Parcells was an incredible hire.

Parcells took a complete and total mess and put us back on a firm foundation that the Cowboys franchise still stands on today.

The haters are stuck in a loop.
Cause: Cowboys do something, anything.

I apologize people.
Brain fart.

I was driving and I thought Mike Holmgren.

You can delete this thread.

Not sure how I feel about McCarthy.... yet.
Not really a fan but I’ll give him a fair shake.

Comparing Campo's performance here to Garrett's is really a stretch. 87-70 with a coach of the year award is certainly a far better performance than three straight 5-11 season.

negative sky is falling fans wont allow it.. they have to gripe 100times day no matter what it is..

its sad really..give him 3 years and lets see how it goes..he doesnt have the 10yr protégé pass Garett had..hes not getting long here as the window is closing and next coach will be younger and most likely the splash guy because the roster will be blown up ie new QB and core players.. however McCarthy is a pretty good choice given where are core is now..

i did not know there was a 1-800-dial up a SB coach available. was their a cant miss blueprint for the perfect hire we missed?.... i wonder what that name was because we can make millions telling the future..:)
