Anybody they wanted.....They just didn't take the time to think this one out....and certainly didn't do their homework. If McCarthy told Jerry his plan all along was to hire Nolan....the interview should have stopped right there.

Honestly...the McCarthy hire doesn't bother me as much as the Nolan hire. It was always going to be about the coordinators anyway.

McCarthy was brought in here to play the heavy....

His first mistake was hiring a guy w/ a checkered past...that he felt he owed a debt too....big mistake.

I @ least think he should have interviewed Urban Meyers and Riley....kick the tires on that. Maybe see if Cowher would have been interested in being the guy to bring in some discipline....then hire his coordinators.

I just can't believe we went along on going back to the 3-4 defense. It's a dead concept in todays NFL...yet here we are...going backward once again.

Agree, Jerry finally step down as GM maybe Dallas have a chance, here to bunch 8-8 season, and Packers team that improve under new coach that McCarthy failed at.

Parcells may have been old, but he was not out of touch.

McCarthy failed his last two seasons in GB because he had a nasty divorce with Rogers. I don't think its that out of touch with football.
