Very good hireParcells had the team going in the right direction. He was a good hire.
Cause: Failed concecutive seasons with (non head coach) Dave campo.
Effect: Lead to big name, too old, out of touch hire in Parcells.
Jerry, “I get it. I get it. I do.”
Then cream puff hire, non head coach hire in Phillips.
Cause: Now. Failed decade of (non head coach) Garrett.
Effect: Lead to big name, too old, out of touch hire in McCarthy.
Moral of story. He will get it... only for a short while. Then go back to being Jerry.
Comparing Campo's performance here to Garrett's is really a stretch. 87-70 with a coach of the year award is certainly a far better performance than three straight 5-11 season.
Pretty much, but putting McCarthy in the same box as Parcells is a stretch. Parcells did turn around the culture here for awhile, with a junk roster. I am not optimistic on McCarthy.
I apologize people.
Brain fart.
I was driving and I thought Mike Holmgren.
Then Jerry forced TO upon him.
When in the world did 56 become “too old”. Coaches as old or older are among the most successful in the NFL. Bellichick, Harbaugh, Carroll, Reid, Zimmer, Payton ... all as old or older.Cause: Failed concecutive seasons with (non head coach) Dave campo.
Effect: Lead to big name, too old, out of touch hire in Parcells.

Garrett had Romo and Dak.
Wasnt “comparing” anyway.
No kidding. I was about to point out the same thing. The Cowboys were an absolute embarrassment before they brought in Parcells. A lot of fans attempt to downplay his impact in Dallas by pointing to the lack of playoff wins but you have to understand that the man was handed a steaming hot pile of poo when took this job. You know......those wonder years where Jerry Jones was basically making decisions unilaterally....so the results weren't surprising.Parcells out of touch...really...He took a 5-11 team to the Playoffs...drafted multiple future HOF players...rebuilt the Cowboys to a great team..Had he stayed for the 2007 year...there no telling how good and far they would have gone...Not even close to correct on Parcells...McCarthy hasn't even coached in Dallas..How about we see what he does with this team.....
I don't even fault Campo for those years. Jerry Jones deserves blame for that three year stretch of futility. The salary cap was a mess, there was very little talent on the team, and the drafts were some of the worst in recent Cowboys history. You'd be hard pressed to find a worse three year stretch of draft picks by the Cowboys. None of those issues fell into the lap of Campo.Comparing Campo's performance here to Garrett's is really a stretch. 87-70 with a coach of the year award is certainly a far better performance than three straight 5-11 season.
You clearly don’t read the context of the post. You literally equated Campo and Garrett.
Facts actually do matter.

takes a big man to point out his own mistakes. Salud! No. I agree. I explained later that I was driving and thought Mike Holmgren.
Apologies.
Jerry is stuck in a 90s pre-salary cap, no free agency time loop.
Who do you seriously believe they could have gotten? This was by far Jerry's laziest hire. Seriously...2 interviews? I'm done...
