Jerry: ”I didn’t know it was going to be this tough”. Why it is this tough

For the life of me I cannot comprehend how there is any defense left for Jerry. Mountains of evidence, irrefutable evidence that he's a terrible GM.
Truth. And Jerry’s comments in his recent on bus interview gave us some insight that indicates he knows that the mountains of evidence are plainly obvious to even a casual non-Kool-aid drinking fan.

What’s doubly pathetic about this 76 year con artist is that in his attempts to deflect blame for the last 23 years, he has deceived almost no one except himself and a few other Jones family members that he’s a competent, capable football executive. The evidence to the contrary is so much more credible that any sugar coated sales pitch he throws out there about how much he wants to win, and can’t understand why his teams haven’t been successful in the playoffs.

The sad truth is Jerry Jones is pathetic in ways his bubble will never allow him to see. With the cash this team has, Jerry could literally throw ungodly amounts of money at getting the best coaches, best football minds, the best scouts, the best of everything on the coaching/executive side of running an NFL team. Yet he willfully chooses to have a junior Boy Scout HC, his family members in executive positions and enthroned himself as the biggest dog on football decisions.

It’s self inflicted stupidity. And yet he still doesn’t know why they haven’t won in 23 years.

So Jerry figured with parity he could win with a few shrewd moves here and there? It hasnt exactly worked out that way, since he bought Deion for 35 million and won exactly one title with him. Since then, he hasnt even made a conference championship game. The salary cap meant that Jerry no longer had to outbid DeBartolo, but it was also the undoing of his dynasty.
Amazingly Jerry has remained somewhat relevant despite not the same level of early success.

You’d think with our dysfunctional organization and puppetry coaching staff it would resemble more of the 5-11 Funk and 1-7 collapse for all of this era.

Jerry has had just enough influence with a couple HC’s this era to bring in better talent along with an undrafted Division II and 4th round QB he lucked out on to help his efforts or we’d of had even less success.

I wouldn’t assume he doesn’t know.

He just makes these public pleas to keep us hanging on. And it works .

We are the stupid ones or are just so addicted to our Pushers product it doesn’t matter. The Cowboy Junkies!!

I think he does know why they haven't won and all of that BS from the Boogie Bus is for the fans that still think he wants to win more than anything.

He wants to be the face and the voice of the Cowboys more than anything. He wants jobs for all the family members so he can be the beloved patriarch. He wants the media to hang on every word and to feel important and at some point, it became mandatory for them to interview him, that I do not get. However, no other owner will grant them that except on a special occasion so it is left up to him.

Booger is not the worst GM in the NFL but he is the worst in the long run. And I don't even bother arguing with those that give him credit for that 90's team. He has no rival in being the worst GM in the cap era, where GM's really have to be on their game. Under another owner, this team might have already been through 4 GM's with that track record.

And try and separate the team from the owner is the challenge there because he will not go away. Half the threads in the Fan Form are about him or something that escaped out of his mouth.

But the most amazing thing to me is the level of anger and frustration with a team that won the East and made the final four. No one would know that by taking the temp of the forum. I think the fact that Garrett is still there is the crux of it because there's two ways to go on him. He is either the guy that turned the team from 3-5 or the man that put them at 3-5.

The real frustration is the helplessness that most feel and the hopelessness of the situation. Like other fans in places like DET and NO, they could count on bad seasons bringing about change but nothing, absolutely nothing, will keep the Cowboys from being at or near the top in profit and the ratings. There's not another team like this and we just happen to be fans of it.

Like I said before, the quickest way to happiness with this team is to let go of that "23 years", all it's doing is sustaining the frustration. It also doesn't allow for the fact that there were some damned good years sprinkled in those 23. Not rings but to me the ring's not the thing. 1 happy fanbase, 31 disappointed, don't like those odds. Last season was a damned good season and I have to keep telling myself that.

Its the frustration that we could have beaten the Rams if we had a legimate hc instead of 2 or 3 or 4 headed commitee that mks all hc decision. Garrett was given the luxury of getting to learn on the job. Utterly ridiculous. If we had an empowered, legitimate hc, we could have beat the Rams and thats so frustrating because our players have to overcome so many more obstacles to win that players on 31 other teams never have to deal with. "Jocks and socks" means the Jones boys will be involved in every facet of FOOTBALL operations, whether they are qualified or not (last 23 seasons say they are not).

But man do we have some bada** artwork in the new stajum!

Yet our GM has had playoff wins in that time. I don't love him, but let's not go with this ignorance either!

Its facts that only Cowboys, Lions, and Commanders have failed to reach the Nfc championship game in 23 seasons and counting. What have I stated that is not factual?

No, the season ticket holders had several meetings. There were a few of us who lobbied everyone to walk away. Jerry even attended a meeting attempting to pursuade us from leaving.
I respect that. Tough stand.

Ironically, this franchise's troubles started when Rowdy was introduced AND when Jerry started having that hack George Strait play concerts. Both represent a deal with the devil. Although "Strait" (lol) sold more than Milli Vanilli, neither could write a song or play an instrument. GS owns many guitars however he can only play beginner chords in the first position. We will return to glory the further we distance ourselves from Mr. "Strait".

:lmao2:

Maybe Rowdy is George Str8.

There is also mountains of evidence, irrefutable evidence that his son is exactly the same, except he might even be dumb and cheap.

So partially different... not exactly the same.
Dumb, but spend-thrift.

Talks, but with less uh's and complete gibberish that needs to translated.

So... same, but different?
