Jerry and his “quarterback friendly offense” quotes over the years don’t help

Seeing all the headlines this week with Jerry once again talking (when he shouldn’t of course) about the new “Dak friendly offense” made me look back on how often he has said almost the same thing over the years.

Before I say anything else, let me make clear I’m not anti-Dak at all. He’s definitely good enough to win with. And I want this “new” offense to succeed mightily. But JJ talking about it for hype doesn’t help this team at all.

And…how many times is Jerry going to use the term “______ friendly offense”? Let us count the times.
My point is this: Like all Cowboys fans, I want to win and win now. I want this offense to be prolific. There’s a decent chance it will. But the last thing this team, this QB and this culture needs is a bunch of hype from the owner/GM who oversells and under-delivers every year. Wouldn’t it be nice for once to undersell and over-deliver?

Just my wishful opinion. I expect this team to do well this year- in spite of the 80 year old playing football big shot.

Nothing he says helps. NOTHING. That's why we have been screaming for years for him to shut the hell up.

Instead he has to act the smartest man in the room and say stuff that only creates more problems and embarrass the organization.
Exactly. We all want to see this offense succeed. Hyping it, overselling it before a single regular season down has been played doesn’t help.

He’s been bad this week. First he says we can’t redo Martin cuz we have to pay Micah. I don’t like how he singled out Micah by name. I don’t like him singling out Dak by saying this will be a “Dak friendly offense”. So if Martin doesn’t report to camp Jerry singled out Micah, if our offense doesn’t do well Jerry singled out Dak. How is singling out players going to help team chemistry and organization culture? It’s like he breeds conflict and divisiveness within the team on purpose to meet his attention needs. I said this in another thread but amateur move by an amateur GM.

Sometimes I wonder if we as fans are so divided over players like Dak, Romo, and others because Jerry polarizes the players and then fans take a side. Jerry does it for attention and to keep the team relevant and we as fans argue and Jerry cashes the checks. Who knows, the one thing I know for sure is Jerry is the sole reason for our 27 years of disappointment. Many have come and gone but Jerry remains and our record reflects that.

"QB friendly offense" ... I don't even know what that means in theory, or in real life.
Isn’t every offense “QB friendly”. I’ve never heard a coach or a GM come out and say “this season we’ve designed the offense to keep the QB from scoring” or “this season we’re putting an emphasis on scoring as little as possible by making the QB call the plays in Spanish “. I wish Jerry wouldn’t talk.

“QB-friendly” offense means the offense hangs out with the QB on and off-season, shooting the breeze, having barbecues on the weekends, hanging out at the movies or with his buddies, etc. It’s when the offense becomes just like one of his boys. Bros before hos.

You want a Dak friendly offense?
Put in the 2016 tape, it's the ONLY offense for Dak.

I totally agree . But the old fools hype obviously works generating false hope for those fans needing it to draw them in.

Sad but true despite whatever negative effects and impacts it has on the actual results and culture of the team.

Jerry does not know how to use the term ... The Coaches will work to the players strengths, and create the best situations for them to be in ...

So it is more simple for him to say XYZ Friendly.

This will not be that last time he uses one of his stupid phrases.

Jerry is the main reason we keep falling short. It's the environment he creates. This team has to try to win in-spite of Jerry and that's hard to do. We're going to move on from Dak eventually but our problems are still going to be there.
