A fan of any pro sports team would love an owner like George Steinbrenner. The man hated losing. For a time there I thought that we were lucky to have an owner that would do anything to win. Jerry would go out and acquire any top player either through trade or free agency.Jerry Jones has been awesome for the NFL. He has made millions and millions for owners, the media and even all the players. But Jerry is too stupid to win as a General Manager.
Jerry 's carefully worded press conferences after each and every game, has loooooong ago left the station.
Jerry has no idea how to build a team. He sure knows how to build a marketing brand.
2026 is coming and more of the same. This franchise has already been eliminated from the 2026 season as it was in 2025 but my fellow Dallas fans mocked/ridiculed for stating the obvious.
Will McClay has been POOR the past 5 years. This team has zero depth and it is showing on the field.
This franchise has spent so much resources on OL / DL. And because of this, the secondary ( LB, CB and Safety) has really suffered.
When you do that, you make mistakes. Jerry made some bad trades. He made some bad decisions acquiring players and moving up in the draft. That doesn't mean you should give up and stop trying altogether. Which is basically what Jerry did after the 2012 season. Why did he stop caring about winning?
What we have now is a GM that takes very little risk, and runs a vanilla standard operating procedure that any novice could duplicate. Build through the draft with an occasional low grade trade. Make a splash trade only when desperate. Then on draft night do absolutely nothing but the occasional trade back when asked. Very amateurish. As if they're afraid, or don't know what they're doing.
