Jerry has to be negotiating with MM right now right?

This situation different from many in that MM isn’t under contract. So Jerry can’t simply announce that he’s bringing him back. But, if he didn’t want him back, I’m pretty sure he would have announced that already.

Since it’s a mutual decision anything can still happen, but I have to think that they are in negotiations to bring MM back.

You are falling for it.

Jerry and the Cowboys are in the news right now.

That is the goal of this franchise.

Jerry doesn’t think or act like any normal GM in football. He’s not serious about winning. If he truly put winning a championship first, he would not be the GM anymore.

I only mention the above because your position is a normal conclusion. We don’t have a normal situation here in Dallas.

Current coaching staff or new coaching staff, this team won't be much different next year in talent or performance or record.

And no, there are no negotiations happening right now because Jerral is a fool.

Sad but true. A real GM has to find ways to win or they are fired. When you have zero accountability and don't have to worry about losing your job you tend to suck which Jerrah clearly does.

Jerry Jones had every opportunity to re-negotiate Mike McCarthy's contract between the Green Bay playoff debacle and the start of this season.

Didn't do it.

Could have done it between the start of the season and Dak Prescott's injury.

Didn't do it.

Could have done it during the stretch of wins with Cooper Rush under center.

Didn't do it.

So.

Why should he re-negotiate after the team finished 7-10 and 11th in the NFC, four spots outside the playoffs, behind the team that kicked Dallas' <expletive> at home LAST January to begin with?

If Mike interviews with da Bears, what are the odds Jones decides to move on to another HC?
Pretty good, apparently. The lunatic sees that as disloyalty.

I'm going to underpay you, provide you no personnel help, completely neuter your authority as a head coach and if you talk to another team when you're no longer under contract I am done with you. I value loyalty.

Seriously. **** Jerry Jones.

I dont think he has to be specifically negotiating at this point. Could be conducting end of the season interviews like they normally do. Maybe Jerry just isnt rushing bc he knows he doesnt have to allow it to happen until he cant control it on the 14th. I think Jerry knows if he makes a move either way right now it shows his hand and he likes the circus drawing attention.

My guess is Jerry and Junior are making phone calls to other HC candidates to see what they would want in salary and control. If none of those candidates check all their boxes, then they'll give MM a new contract at the last minute—probably sometime on 13 Jan late in the PM. It's just how they operate.

His contract doesn't expire until the 14th. And you know how the Jones clan negotiates deals - the last minute.

With the hay already being in the barn I'm not sure they are talking right now. Jerry doesn't think rationally like most fans.
As some of the fans in here have already said, he meaning Jerry, is doing what he usually does. He likes to get as much attention as he can and in the meantime, he probably is fueling up his yacht. Come sometime next week he'll make his decision and then the next 6 to 8 months, he'll be on his yacht. He won't communicate during his vacation time unless he he gets the urge to stir up something else, which is Jerry's way. And so it goes.
